“build-operate-transfer” PROJECT FOR ERCAN

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

“build-operate-transfer” PROJECT FOR ERCAN

Postby halil » Tue Jan 03, 2012 3:14 pm

Private company will be taking over the management of Ercan Airport for 20-25 years through a “build-operate-transfer” project (BOT). the Minister of Public Works and Communications Hamza Ersan Saner pointed out that Ercan Airport would reach international standards with the implementation of the BOT project.

The Minister said that it was a necessity to restructure Ercan Airport due to the increase in the number of passengers traveling to the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.

He noted that the infrastructure of the airport had already been strengthened with a series of initiatives taken throughout the year 2011, the establishment of the Air Traffic Management System (SMART) being one of them.

Minister Saner also repeated his offer to the Greek Cypriot Administration to make common use of the SMART system at Ercan Airport for the control of the airspace of Cyprus.

“If they want so, we are ready to share all of our facilities with the Greek Cypriots for a joint airspace control and to ensure coastal security” Saner went on saying.

Also referring to highway operations, the Minister of Public Works and Communications said that new projects are lying ahead with the aim of easing road travel in the country.

Saner thanked for motherland Turkey’s financial assistance being provided for highway operations.

Halil, why do they pretend they have the power for such without Turkey's permission?

Why do they lie to themselves?

Why doesn’t your media pose the question to this character?

Ask him if he has the authority for something like that without Turkey’s permission!

Go on… start asking them some real questions…

Strange - thought most visitors to the north came by Charlie-130 into Lefkoniko or by troopship into Fama-G. :?

Now you mention Lefkoniko... that is one hugely long run-way. On Google Earth it's hard to make out the runway at LCA, but the one at Lefkoniko is soooooo clear.

Aren't the Turks for ever saying they are going to do this and that to Ercan to increase passenger arrivals? Along with statements that there will be direct flights to the occupied area of cyprus currently under Turkish and TC occupation?

Their only airline shut down ages ago and most of their former clients moved to Cyprus Airways!

When will Halil urge his journalist colleagues to go ask these people some serious questions for once instead of just propagating their baloney all the time?
