Yes, That one is still there.

It's not an ad for a company. that site is for a jewish congregation (i.e. church) -> http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chabad. And yes.. the Turkish flags bother me in a huge way. In fact these bother me for the same reason. For decades now, turkey and israel have been very close allies, scratching eachothers' backs (anyone remember the illegal occupied land sales to israelis a few years back?) . Those absurdly large eyesores are effectively the same as having turkish flags flying in the middle of our city.

Big Jewish symbol (lit candles) on beach road (west end in on of the sea-side parks).

In case you haven't noticed, Israel and Turkey have fallen out big time. Cyprus and Israel are now forging strategic and economic ties that will benefit Cyprus for years to come. Israeli businesses will be investing in the RoC in future and not in the occupied areas. Israeli tourists will be coming to the free areas and not the occupied areas. You'd better get used to it. And try reading some newspapers. It helps to keep up with what's going on around you.

ah.. so you mean after decades of throwing a wrench into reunification attempts and working on all levels to screw us over, suddenly they are helping us? how? are they going to help fix what they fudged up all these years? i wont even believe it when i see it. everyone who trusted israel got massively boned by them. this "deal with the devil" has pissed off every country around us... all of our neighbours.

israel has been allied with turkey for a really long time. the day they get over their hurt feelings, cyprus will be left behind with no allies. we are trusting rodents with our future...

it wont be long before i say "i told you so". sadly, the price of that will be a formal recognition of northern cyprus as part of turkey.

Street signs that are irrelevant to 99.99% of the island’s population are very disturbing!

Cyprus’ new and very tiny Jewish community should be very careful not to let their culture and messages spill out on the streets of an already culturally tense capital if its intention is a peaceful existence with no ulterior motive.

Do I detect a hint of anti-Semitism in this thread? Well I don't trust the buggers either!

What is this ulterior motive of the Jews, GR? What have you been reading this Christmas? Mein Kampf?

I read Mein Kampf a long time ago Hermes but I only found the first 3 chapters interesting. In the rest, Adolf doesn’t know what he’s talking about!

As for the possibility of an ulterior motive, that's for them to explain why they need street signs to catch 1 in 20,000 motorists driving by...

Well no-one can say you didn't try to read Adolf's magnum opus. It never appealed to me personally. As for Jewish street signs I'd try to concentrate on my driving if I were you. Chabad centres are community and educational centres for Jews. They don't do conversion. So my guess is you're pretty safe. :D
