Both Greek and Turkish troops should depart

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Both Greek and Turkish troops should depart

Postby halil » Tue Dec 27, 2011 8:16 am

I wonder what Bash patriots will comment on this one...............as we can see outsider can see other side of the coin too......

Both Greek and Turkish troops should depart :!: :!: :!:

The Cyprus problem has been unsolved for 37 years and children are taught in Greek Cypriot and Turkish Cypriot schools that the ‘other side’ is to blame.

This is similar to Northern Ireland until recently when people on both sides of the religious divide eventually got together and sorted out the problems by talking together.

Greek mainland troops have been present on the island for many years and are still present now. The leadership from both sides must work together to see the eventual withdrawal of both Turkish and Greek armed forces from the island, so both communities are free to decide their own future. And this must be a future where the Turkish Cypriots have the same legal rights and guarantees that the Greek Cypriot community enjoys. With no sense of majority/minority, but a true sense of a combined nation.

Halil, it is your side which objects to the above. We have no problem if the small number of Greek troops departs when the Turkish occupation ends.

And by the way, the British troops should depart as well.

There is only a small number of Greek troops in Cyprus and we have no problem if all of them go.

It is your side which objects to the departure of all foreign troops from Cyprus and which wants the "guarantees" of Turkey to remain. Ask your community leader.

All the foreign troops must go - to be replaced by the EU Army (which will have some Greek troops too :D ). Brits and Turks should have no claim to EU resources.

You are all thinking benefits of yourself......... all troops will go home....federal states will have only her own police forces .... for internal affairs. Federal government police forces should be in charge for security of the whole Federal republic of Cyprus.
Demilitarise the whole island will be benefit of the whole Cypriots.
Sources of the Cyprus belongs to all Cypriots.

So stop talking about it and get the troops out! Do you actually believe that Turkey would pull it's troops out of Cyprus? They would then lose control. And while you're at it get the Turkish settlers out too!

So okay send the Greek soldiers out, all 100 of them. As for the Greek settlers, since Greece is in the EU any Greeks have the right to be here!
