Repairing a halogen hob

Postby ampleaphrodite » Wed Dec 21, 2011 9:10 am

Good morning. I need advice, please.

We have a halogen hob, which is about 5 years old and one 'ring' has stopped working (just in time for Christmas, of course!)

I've made a few phone calls to try and get it fixed, with no joy.

Can anyone tell me if it's actually possible to get a halogen hob repaired (and, if so, who does it), or are we doomed to buying a new one? We live in the Limassol area.

Many thanks.

Regards

I feel your pain. My daughter dropped a jar on ours just months after it was installed breaking the glass top. It still works, but the glass was broken in a few pieces around the edge. I couldn't find anyone who could be bothered to repair it and ultimately the cost to repair seemed to be as much to buy a new one. I simply glued it back together. If you can wait check out the four day clearance in Nicosia. They have nice, name brands ones for a couple hundred Euros. Good luck and I hope you find someone. Maybe they can fix mine too!
