Not a New Topic.

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Not a New Topic.

Postby denizaksulu » Wed Dec 21, 2011 12:22 am

21st December arrives again. A date which gets me thinking. I always remember the terrible events of 21st December 1963. Now we are in 2011, and still no solution to the Cyprob. In fact matters got worse since the coup and invasion of 1974.
All these years I should also be remembering my grandfather too, who passed away exactly a year fater the troubles began on the 21st December 1964 in London. Like many Cypriots, Greek and Turkish who pass away in a foreign land, a refugee never to see their homes again. I will say a prayer for all of them. Perhaps some of you will join me.

Well if it's of value and help from an atheist... a few moments reflection in-between posts.

Here's thinking of all Cypriots who lost their homes in the troubles: may 2012 see them all have the right of return.

Deniz, not wanting to belittle your G.Dad, may he RIP (since my own G.Father also died in a foreign country), but at least he could go to his home north or south, unlike mine who was evicted and was never able to return.

But a prayer yes, of course.

I'm right there with you, Deniz. We have a special connection you and I, around this time of the year, as we were in the same place at the same time back in 1963!
