Yes we got used to misinformation in this forum.
HERE's THE TRUTH BEHIND THE STORYFrom here:
http://www.elections2011.pio.gov.cy/pli ... voters.htm533,778 registered voters (including 569 Kibrislis-compared to about 300 in 2006) +12,333 EU citizens.
Also from the same page :ESPECIALLY FOR THE VILLAGE OF POTAMIA THERE WILL BE ELECTIONS FOR 2 SEPARATE MUNICIPAL COUNCILS one Kibrisli and one for Kypreoi joined in a form of a union to one Municipal Council.
Other information from here:
http://www.ekloges2011.gov.cy/turkish_voters.htmhttp://www.ekloges2011.gov.cy/turkish_voters_tr.htmIn Potamia there have been 25 Registered Kibrisli voters. HOWEVER the few Kibrislis living there have agreed between them in advance and they named one person ONLY for Muhtar + 4 others for Municipal members. All of them were nominated without elections because there were no other candidates, and all positions were filled up.
The same happened in MANY other small Kypreoi villages as well... It is not unusual.. Therefore the Kibrisli voters in Potamia including the very respactable person Mr Imbrahim Asiz, did not have the chance to vote...
Imbrahim Azis'es ACTUAL complain is similar to his complain that he filed at the ECHR a few years ago. That separation of the people in Cyprus between Kibrislis and Kypreoi is racist. And I fully agree with him. He went on to comment if this is what we really want in Cyprus?
Aziz says both Kibrislis and Kypreoi and EU nationals should be able to vote together for all the candidates. FYI there are about 380 Registered Kypreoi voters in Potamia also.
Does VP, Halil et al agree with him yes or no?
