Where do we go after January 2012?

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

VP,

Let me explain why the Taiwanese model won't wash with the UN.

The Taiwanese own their land where as Turkey ethnically displaced 200,000 innocent people to form northern Cyprus - I know this, the UN knows this, the EU knows this, the ROT knows this and you know this.

Nothing will change after 2012 other than one further step for Turkey's objective to exterminated all TCs from Cyprus - but never mind, you have a thriving community in north London and that's without political "equality".

fig head wrote:Actually giving it a thoughtful thought It might be a scary year, not going to be the end of the world for sure but disasters will happen, I predict a war ! I really do, the middle east will be strict Muslims rather than democrats, National wars would be in more than one country, The west, US and Russia would be in a conflict that will end up in another war !

Does not sound like a good year !

But never the less we would be as individuals far away from most events getting on with our little lives.

So we all agree there will be no solution.

That the talks will breakdown.

Each side will do their own thing for the foreseeable future.

Turkeys EU journey will end.

GCs will lose EU leverage.

EU will be left with a divided country and no sign of a solution.

Looks like we are agreeing everyone...goodwork.

more or less but this does not mean that it is good work for things to continue like this because in reality, there is nothing good about the status quo. If anything, it makes the Turkish Cypriots and the Turks look really bad and incompatible with the first world. (This depends on your perspective)

Add these too ....

The EU having abandon Turkeys EU accession application, terminates its custom union

All trade with the EU stops

Turkeys begins to go bankrupt

RoC successfully extracts gas and the prosperity of the south rockets

The RoC cuts off all payments to TCs living north

RoC stops all TCs and others coming south for work, medical, flights ate

The trashcan remains unrecognised and goes down the shit hole further

The remaining TCs leave trashcan

Due to Turkeys bankruptcy, she no longer can afford to keep trashcan supported.

Troops are withdrawn

Anatolian gypsies have no future so return to turkey

Once vacant, the RoC moves in and reclaims the whole island whilst at the same time sumps the carpetbaggers into the sea

Oh and a shed load more, i can't be arsed......

Have a nice day VP.

The Turkish Cypriot community and the T*NC will just become another footnote in Cyprus's history. Who really cares?

You will never get such an agreement. It seems to me you don't even know what the Cyprus problem is. It never dies, it will always pop up with every opportunity.

Like the Armenian Genocide and the Kurdish issue, they are still ongoing primarily due to Turkeys policy and politics.

No, no and no VP. What happens is that Turkey goes it's separate way and WE, the Cypriots, go our way. Savy??
