I finally got my Cypriot citizenship through my parents and I'll travel to Cyprus next month and I'd like to get at least a civil ID card whilst I'm there.

Just a few questions; how long should I expect to wait for a passport when applying in Cyprus? In Australia it takes up to 6 weeks, so I imagine I should expect at least something similar.

Would the ID Card be done within a day?

I renewed my passport last summer and it took about 2 weeks ... if I remember correctly. For new passports and IDs it might take longer. Just call one of the Citizen Service Centers and ask them. Here is the number for the Limassol one: 25 829129

Yes it'd be a new passport and ID card so chances are I'd have to wait a bit longer

the passport is a 10 day wait and the id card is instant
it was a very easy process thank god

I applied on the 29th of June 2010 for Cypriot citizenship through the legal and ministerial channels. and i have a certificate of Cypriot citizenship .I have been waiting for one year and a half with no results.
I would highly appreciate you taking a look into the matter, because it is a matter that is of great personal significance to me. Any one know why the process took long time !!

Mine took 8 months when applying from Australia

If you already have a Cypriot citizenship certificate then you are a citizen...
Otherwise you have to contact the Immigration Department in Nicosia

It is better to bypass the Cyprus Consulate in Australia and apply in Cyprus. Just leapfrog the consulate!

It should only take 2 weeks maximum.

Yes, my mother will apply in Cyprus, the ID card was going to be several weeks wait from Australia - so I applied last week in Limassol, and I had it 5 minutes later - excellent!
