Forgive a second thread with the same theme, but headlines are so important... and a few of our huge audience of world-wide readers have complained they can't find the other thread.
So to repeat... a certain former forumer, who may or may not go by the name of Fred, is undertaking an arduous 10-mile sponsored walk this coming Sunday in support of the occupation of the buffer zone.
Here and not in any particular order and by no means comprehensively, are some off the top of me head thoughts as to why you may wish to support the Action...
Firstly Protest is Good, and it don't matter if you don't agree with everything the occupiers are saying, the major part of their message comes across as End the Divisions and looked at in this way it should appeal to each of us.
Young CYs are meeting up to talk and doing so without the usual distinctions.
They are looking for and finding common ground.
They are trying to break down the Divisions of the Mind, those personal prejudices based on the baggage of the past that have plagued CY for sooooo long.
For the first time in decades there are a few square yards of CY that are Free and United. Massive achievement.
Their message of a brighter future is starting to get out to the wider world, and the angle that is being picked up by the Press of the World is that CYs can live together peacefully.
It's cold at night, there are some young CYs brave and determined enough to endure the hardships of camping out in No Man's Land for Reunification and which of us would argue with that aim? ... and they could do with the warmth and encouragement and emotional support that comes with wider help.
.....
Respect to yous in CY who have run the Blockade and have got Humanitarian Assistance through to the occupation. Those who live at a distance can help get some Aid through to the Occupiers by making a pledge for the Sponsored Walk...
