Ever thought of thinking about why they may have those positions mate, ever looked at the problem from the other man's perspective? ... just asking.

I have lived and experienced many injustices in my life. In fact, over the years I have seen my family, friends and neighbours go through horrific experiences but hand on heart, I have never seen or heard them show such hatred and insult anybody such as your buddies. Maybe its me and my surroundings that are strange and all the Pirtis's, sotos's and B25 of the world are the real people, hence your desire to be included in their group.

Regret to hear of your and your neighbours' traumas mate...

If they are going through what my family went through between 63 and 74 then its not very pretty and I have a lot of sympathy for them. But having said this I don't ever remember my family showing so much hated and animosity towards the GC's.

Alan my dear... do bear in mind this is a CY Forum and there ain't a CY around who hasn't been effected by the past, not one, all will have experiences, traumas to them or family or friends, every single one.

The only other things want to say on this thread at the mo are that it is dodgy to take a few words made by a forumer out of the context and by context mean the discussion that was taking place at the time as well as historical context.

The other thing want to say is that thread Headlines are very powerful and when the headline is looked at together with the OP, the message is essentially and simply, three long-standing members are uncivilised and if that weren't enough, then to go on to call them "racist thugs", well these aren't nice things to say.

... and then thirdly there are the usual over-generalisations in the OP... things like this..."These patriots are representative of the GC community" , and then there is this appallingly and grossly over-generalised accusation... (if i went in to the south) "who would even attempt to protect me?"

You have my total sympathy AlanwithoneL. I assure you that not all GCs are like these bigots. Since the gates were opened many GCs have forged strong, fraternal bonds of friendship with many TCs and this is what keeps me going, knowing that not everybody has taken leave of their senses. The ordinary people do not need to be ashamed for what has happened to one community or the other. Usually it is the culprits who play the national card in order to disguise their shame.

Good for you Bananiot but perhaps you can tell us whether or not you have forged strong friendships with TCs who have profited from the sale of GC land? Generally, what is the attitude of your new friends towards the sale and exploitation of our property and how do they justify it?
