Just to comment on the article’s punch line…

Problem is there is no "separate ways" option for you... sorry!

Ultimately, you'll either get absorbed by Turkey or the indigenous Cypriots because nobody else supports a third entity, not even Turkey.

Just keep in mind that if you choose to go with Turkey the land you are currently occupying is not for keeps as it belongs to the RoC.

The “TC community” or whatever is left of it, just doesn’t seem to realize how insignificant it has become over the years. It’s not even a political force on the island let alone in the region to have any say on the future of things! This may sound blunt but it’s honest.

YOU may not care about percentages Halil but the word "zonal" in the term "bi-zonal federation" quoted by you implies that areas of territory are defined and hence measured and could be expressed as percentages. Since percentages are not important to you how would you feel if the northern component state comprised 10% of the area it currently occupies, that would be OK, wouldn't it?

Yes, it's interesting how, in the grand scheme of things, the TCs are an irrelevance - and it wasn't the GCs that did this but Turkey.

Give us a comparison between the precentages gained by ELAM in Cyprus and Erbakan's party and its successors in Turkey.

Erbakan, a Cypriot from Lefka who went to Turkey and founded an ultra nationalist racist party. He is the one who publicly called for the Turkish air force to bomb Athens during the Imia crisis in 1996. And you dare talk about nationalists!
