Human dignity is inviolable. It must be respected and protected

The understatement of the year!

Those who have violated these universal principles (perhaps some people do not undersand the meaning of the term "universal principles" keep asking ridiculous questions) have waved their right to even talk about them, let along, trying to lecture people who fought for these, well before 1974.

Perhaps it will be easier for you if someone else asked these questions, but I can't imagine why. Maybe, you just don't have the answers, but are too proud to admit it.

Good questions aikhme and welcome to the forum. You should be aware by now that Bananiot uses the dictum the "politics of the feasible" as code for accepting injustice. He believes that present conditions are immutable facts of life. He asks GCs to trim their goals accordingly and to let injustices stand. It is the politics of cynicism and despair. It is to the majority of Greek Cypriots' credit that they are not defeatists or cynics like Bananiot - but unstinting in their belief for justice and a better future.

Behind Bananiot's cynicism is a more sinister argument however. He is engaged in a rather scandalous attempt to demand that Greek Cypriots take responsibility for the monstrous crime of the Turkish occupation. In effect, trying to blame the victims of ethnic cleansing for their fate. There is a Turkish pattern of blaming the victims for Turkish aggression. In the same way that Turkey claims it was the Armenians who attacked the Turks first during the Armenian genocide. No doubt Bananiot will soon claim that Greek Cypriots have no right to justice because they inadvertently "invited" the Turkish army into Cyprus.

It's to your credit that as a new member you have seen through Bananiot right away. "Insipid", "self-flagellating" and "unprincipled". Keep it up...

Look frenchy boy, you’re not allowed to initiate threads that attack a specific individual, and not to mention that your "clever" idea has already been done a few dozen times before with people just going round in circles!

Admin should close this time wasting load of crap because it’s nothing less than a boring personal attack.

Hang on, Get Real. This is nothing of the sort. The questions are relevant and are based on proper arguments. I don't know what your problem is. Aikhme is the one who has come under personal attack. Besides, if "personal attacks" are to be outlawed here, there'd be little left of this forum. Others have turned this thread personal including you with your cheap racist jibes, mistaken assumptions and avoidance of the issues. The guy has constantly tried to return to the subject at hand. Get off your high horse and stop telling everyone how this forum should be run, who is an imposter, who is entitled to post and who isn't. If you don't like a thread don't post in it. It's not compulsory. And you owe the guy an apology for accusing him of posting under an assumed name when he claims he isn't. So do the decent thing and say you were mistaken and stop trying to drive new people off the forum...

So do you reject Eroglus' recent statements that an eventual solution of the Cyprus problem would be considered as primary EU legislation and would contain permanent exceptions to the acquis? Or do you accept that as the Republic of Cyprus became an EU member on the basis of Protocol 10, this in turn constitutes the basis on which various issues arising from the solution of the Cyprus problem will be dealt with?

In other words, that we should not accept any permanent derogations to accompany the solution of the Cyprus problem, and that any exceptions will not be permanent and will be limited in number and duration?

It’s a personal attack starting from the thread title…

Banana oil from a Bananiot

And in the body…

This assiduous banana oil from a member posting under the nom de plume of Bananiot still resonates in my mind.

I then replied to the banana oil from the misguided Bananiot with the following;

So Mr. Bananiot, can you elucidate, or provide us with more entertaining banana oil?

And what a fucking yawn of a thread although there's nothing against that in the rules...

Okay, GR. I welcome you to your new role on the forum as Arbiter of Personal Attacks. See how long you last in the role.

Maybe the original poster's mistake was to dedicate a thread to Bananiot. But he's new here and deserves a break. He's not to know we're used to Bananiot's twisted self-flaggelations which must come as a shock to many people.

Besides didn't your parents teach you to be polite to strangers? Show them their way around? And not to go about accusing people of being impostors without proof? Sheesh! :o

The newbie broke all the rules… both written and unwritten!

1. French flag on a Cypriot forum. Whatever next!
2. Instant personal attack on individual!
3. Childish banana this and banana that in message!
4. When confronted pretends to be a gentleman!

I smell a Greek nationalist here… :?

Let’s hang him by the balls and if he squeals he’s a rat! 8)

Why don't you behave like a good 'native' Cypriot and go after that re-emerged Turkish poster 'helsingfors'. Use that fine brain of yours to work out who he was (if you can), since you are that way inclined.
