Banana oil from a Bananiot

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

What questions B25? He asks if I support universal values (having first placed it under an offensively stupid topic title he probably thought of as being clever) and he expects me to answer "no" in order to feel some kind of vindication. Besides, I have spoken enough with this person when he assumed a different name (nom de plum!)

I assure you that we have not spoken before.

And no I do not expect you to answer no. I want to know why you consider these EU principles unfeasible. And why are they unfeasible?

And no, I like this title because I think it is funny. I just considered many of your responses in another thread as being acetic, and with a nom de plume of Bananiot, I took the opportunity only for the sake of some humour and fun, and certainly not to be offensive or clever. :?

Are you a banana cultivator, or are you being clever about your countrymen? The Cyprus Mail refers to the Replublic as a "Banana Plantation". Are you being clever like they are?

Is the Republic a big banana Plantation for you too?

You have no idea and furthermore, you asked a very simple question which I answered.

Like I said to Piratis, if you have any idea of how we can go forward, let us have it and we can debate it.

have conceded that the only feasible solution is BBF. Show me a way forward and I will jump on your band wagon.

I politely answered your question with the EU Acquis which is only temporarily suspended in the occupied part of Cyprus.

http://www.europarl.europa.eu/charter/pdf/text_en.pdf

I am not sure why you refer to me as a "cyber tiger". I have given you my opinion of a feasible way forward, and put it up for debate and yet you now refuse to answer the question regarding the EU Acquis on which the EU was founded.

Why do you think the EU Acquis is just jargon? Is it because you disagree with the EU Acquis or do you believe it is unachievable? If unachievable, then what kind of solution are you after? Perhaps you believe that Cypriots do not deserve the protection the EU Acquis provides to all EU citizens as so few enjoy these basic rights anyway, who indeed take them for granted.

Maybe you don't want to answer these valid questions as it exposes your very agenda for what it is. So, is it safe to presume that you do not agree with the EU Acquis or consider it less than feasible for Cyprus?

You don't have to answer the questions if you don't want to. But, if you don't like the answer, then don't ask the question.

These are difficult questions for you I am sure, and I am surprised no one else asked you the same questions.

Perhaps it will be easier for you if someone else asked these questions, but I can't imagine why. Maybe, you just don't have the answers, but are too proud to admit it.

Hang in there, aikhme. You will achieve a forum first if you get Bananiot to reply honestly. I too want to know why he thinks it's OK for every other human being in the world to go for the ideals of humanity but not us in Cyprus. Why are we mules for going for the desirable?

"... because it is the desirable you after and not only this but, as history teaches us, going like mules after the desirable, can only bring more losses and pain."

Dear aikhme,
I am an occassional poster here, and since you are new you have not come across me before...I am a Greek Cypriot who happens to believe Bananiot to be the most sensible, intelligent, fair, and compassionate poster on this forum....He has been very consistent in his views from day one, unlike most of us who have had several changes of heart and mind...Bananiot knows that the noble values you talk about are only worthy if they are not used selectively....Those who have spat and trotten on the very human values you talk about in the past, regarding our Turkish Cypriot brothers and sisters, have lost the right to even mention them today...So be a good little boy/girl and crawl back to the rock you live under and let our noble Bananiot continue to be the GC conscience on this forum....

Lying two faced Turk.

I could have guessed you'd come on board to save your arse lickers skin.

Why doesn't he answer the question, why don't you? Bacause you and he both know what you demand is totally, racist, discriminatory, against our HR, just so that you can "teach us a lesson". On your way, no one misses you. That rock you mention is yours.

Oh,dear...I seem to have upset our little fascist sewer rat!

You have missed the point of my post,Adolf....Those who have spat and trotten on others' human rights in the past have no moral right to complain selectively about their own predicament...It might be cruel to remind you,but that is how the world turns,my dear little Adolf... Bananiot too is only reminding you of this little fact....Obviously to no avail....Now go and play with your new friend Acne, and let grown ups carry on serious conversations... :)

Dear BirKibrisli,

Nice to make your acquaintance on this forum.

Frankly, I never stated that Bananiot is anything other than what you mention. Nevertheless, being part of the GC conscience does not mean self flagellating oneself and punishing all future generations at the same time. There are basic core values that can never be compromised, and since the Annan Plan did compromise most of those values or Human rights, it was rightfully rejected by us.

So where to from here? All arrows point towards these core values, whether under a unitary state or BBF. Without these values, then we are at a dead end, and the current situation will persist. What we require are leaders who have the moral fortitude to stand true and insist on these core EU principles to form the basis of any future solution for the sake of all the island's citizens. Having a conscience does not mean that I shall self flagellate myself for any wrong doings and accept something that will compromise the human rights of future Cypriots. I, you and Bananiot do not have the right, and such a de jure state of affairs is no solution at all. It is an injustice which most of us will never accept against our own people.

I have not trodden on anyone. The EU Acquis provides protection for all, not just GCs or TCs. Compromising core Human Rights principles, will not only not achieve a solution, because we the majority will never accept, but it raises certain questions not only about your morals and ethics, but it also has severe imputations about your sense of fairness that you talk about. That is anything but noble.

And a noble person does not tell someone to "crawl under a rock".

Kindest Regards
