Back to the "Last Chance" policy.

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

In a bizarre twist of fate I’m glad we “lost the war” in 1974 because had it been the other way round we would’ve been turned into Greeks by now and the Turkish Cypriots would’ve been the only ones left to represent Cypriots!

We chose to leave it. Haven't you worked that out yet? Seven years down the line and you still don't get it.

Still anybody questions the fact that the Turkish invasion in 1974 was all about Turkish expansionism and the "suffering of TCs" was merely a cheap excuse the Turks created themselves by initiating the conflict against us?

Viewpoint and BirKibrisli, even now threten us to take over the whole of Cyprus if we do not agree to their terms. What will be their excuse this time? Aparetnly they believe that just like they first decided on partition and then on a plan on how to achieve it (start a conflict against us and then TCs pretending to be the victims that Turkey would have to "save"), that they can now again decide to take over the whole of Cyprus and figure out an excuse of how to do it later on.

I am bookmarking this thread and your posts and I will refer you here the next time you pretent to be the innocent victims.

Turkey would control the whole of Cyprus in a similar way that they control the "trnc" today.

I hope you do not question the fact that all important and strategic decisions of the Turkish side, not just today but from the 50s and even earlier, are taken by Turkey. This was the case, is the case, and will continue to be the case for as long as TCs depend and are indebted to Turkey.

The TCs will continue to be indebted to Turkey for as long as they have gains (or gain expectations) that rely on the Turkish military power. The TCs are a minority of 18%. Anything above their rights as a equal Cypriot citizens plus some additional minority rights, is not something which they deserve, but something which is gained by means of brute force and blackmail. And since the TCs do not have the power to force their unfair terms themselves, they rely on Turkey to do it for them.

Obviously Turkey doesn't offer her services for free. They expect a return on their investment, and this return is the obedience of the TCs in any issue that Turkey deems as strategic or important.

Your so called "solution" would create an undemocratic system where the puppets of Turkey would hold 50% of the power. As a result any decision that Cyprus takes will have to be in agreement with Turkey or else we would have deadlocks and the whole system would collapse again. The whole Cyprus would be a hostage of Turkey as the north part is today.

Therefore a real solution can only be one that creates a democratic system that frees the TCs from any debts to Turkey. This can happen by TCs getting what they actually deserve just like all other minorities in Cyprus and all other minorities in every other succesful democratic country in the world.

Since you will not accept this, then obviously is far better for us to keep 1/3rd of Cyprus free and continue our struggle to liberate the remaining 3rd, rather than agreeing on something that would officially Turkify the north part of Cyprus and at the same time turn the whole island into a banana republic of Turkey.

Piratis you are once again so wrong, your inhumane embargoes and isolation has meant we are financially dependent on Turkey, he who controls the purse strings calls the shots. You are making a big mistake by combining the two, financial dependence is a far greater reason for towing the line, solve this and Turkey will be out of the picture interference wise, we would not want this anyway so why not work with us to ensure that Turkey has no rights to consistently interact with the TC leadership and that we work together as partners north and south not as majority minority.

But there wouldn't be any "embargoes" or "isolation" if you accepted to be equal citizens without the racist and undemocratic privileges on our expense that you are after. Your dependence on Turkey started much earlier and for political reasons. The financial dependence is just an additional thing that came later.

You need Turkey because your demands are unfair, racist and undemocratic and no decent person can accept such things unless he is forced to. Now you are basically asking from us to voluntarily accept to have our human and democratic rights violated so that you don't need Turkey anymore. In that case why you demand guarantees of Turkey as part of this "solution"? Because as you said many times you can't trust us. You can't trust us that we will accept to have our democratic and human rights violated unless we are forced to, because you know that the majority of us are decent people with dignity.

Therefore no matter what we say, as long as you expect gains on our expense, you will collaborate with Turkey in order to forcefully extract those gains.

Well it can't get any clearer than that, and if VP et al, still don't get it, then there is no need for any further discussion. Cased Closed.

Bravo re!

What chances do a handful of converted “Turkish Cypriots” have against an overwhelming majority of mainland Turks in this BBF you guys fantasize about?

Piratis is correct as it would be the equivalent of Turkey running the show!

Let’s face it… in your haste to increase in numbers so as to catch up with the GCs, you ended up vanishing!

Okey Mr Genious, you explain to me ,in detail, how can Turkey manipulate a water tight system, and control the goings on in a foreign country...The GCs will have the majority and political dominance in the Federal governmet...How can Turkey subvert such an arrangement???Please be specific...

Finally you are admitting it,GR! I've always said that without the TC struggle beginning in the mid 50s Cyprus wouldve become a province of Greece a long time ago...So you owe us big time!!! Just remember that... :)
