Back to the "Last Chance" policy.

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

I agree that the "Last chance" theory has had its day...There is no more "last chance"""...Ecevit has been proven right once again...Cyprus problem was solved in 1974....To get Turkey out of Cyprus you will need to find some balls ,or grow some, and take her on militarily...Or wait till the balance of power changes and sieze the day...Or wait for 1000 years...whichever comes first... :(

Oil, when managed correctly has been known to do far greater things than that…

Let's hope so. Otherwise the T/Cs will never get their share of the proceeds.

Wrong. The Cyprus problem was solved in 2004 by Tassos Papadopoulos and the GCs. It took us 30 years to achieve that. It is a matter of a few more years (maybe months) to enjoy the implementation of the solution. The TCs will see to it. Unless, of course, they are determined to let themselves be ethnically cleansed from their own country. But then, again, WE shall find a way to rescue them once again, as we did in 2004.

Only the RoC can grant citizenship legally. On the other hand I believe that the TCs will not accept to be ethnically cleansed from the North by Turkey.

So far Turkey has failed in her attempt to take over the whole island of Cyprus. Her last chance was with the Annan Plan in 2004 before the RoC became a EU member, and since 2004 RoC as a EU member, Turkey has been on the ropes ever since. Turkey tried to use the TCs every which way possible to push her own interests in Cyprus, even recently regarding the Gas & Oil, but to no avail. Turkey occupying or even annexing the north has ZERO advantage to Turkey. It is the whole island or nothing. The whole island she cannot get, and she has only power in the north as an occupier. She has ZERO say so regarding the recent Gas & Oil finds in the EEZ of the RoC, and the Americans, the Russians, the French and Israel has made sure of that. That means through Turkey's occupation of the north, she has gained very little and has placed a lot on the line, including her economy and her future EU membership, and all for nothing as it turned out.

I'm sure back in 1974, Turkey had a much rosier expected outcome from her invasion and occupation of Cyprus. Well, she counted her chickens way before the eggs hatched, so now, her ONLY way out of Cyprus is, is to make the remaining TCs totally insignificant, and to do that, is to generate more "trnc citizens" from the settlers in order to completely take all political power away from the TCs they enjoy today. Turkey will then use this political power to buy her way out of Cyprus by making a deal with the RoC in order for her to continue her EU membership road. With the TCs out of the way, Turkey can pretty much do what she wants with her own people in the north. She will take them back by force if need be, and the remaining TCs will be pretty much left on their own to find their place within the RoC with the GCs. At this time, there will no longer be any BBF to talk of, but a straight Unitary state with full democratic rights given to everyone. Turkey will just tell the Turks that they are trading small part of Cyprus they now occupy for Europe. Many Turks will not ask many questions and will just go along with Turkey's wishes. No wonder even Eroglu is becoming afraid with the idea of more settlers being made "trnc citizens" by Turkey. He can see the writings on the wall, and so can I.
