A full day curfew will be imposed during the population census. A nation-wide census will be carried out on the 4th of December, it has been announced.
The census aims to chart the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus’s economic and social needs and to provide a planning guide for work to be carried out in these fields.
Prime Minister İrsen Küçük said that this was the last time a curfew will be imposed for a census.
A comprehensive population census will be carried out on the 4th of December.
A full day curfew from 5am to 6pm will be in place during the census.
The State Planning Organization announced yesterday that all preparations for the census had been completed.
Speaking during a visit paid to him yesterday, Prime Minister İrsen Küçük said that this will be the last time a census curfew will be imposed in the TRNC.
He said that the next census will be carried out through an automated computer system without a curfew.

A Curfew!!! Jees.... it's a bit like Biblical Times ... when people had to return to their home towns to be individually counted. The story of Mary and Joseph returning to Bethlehem springs to mind.
