He is obviously referring to the monuments and remnants of the Greek, Roman, Byzantine, Armenian, Assyrian, art and culture found everywhere in Asia Minor and which the Turks claim as their own "heritage" (once a pirate always a pirate).
Even the so-called "turkish baths" are nothing but the roman baths. Because, as far as history records, the Turanic-Mongol tribes that invaded Asia Minor on horse back (Seljuk and Ottomans), didn't carry any baths with them nor did they have any where they came from (the Steppes of Mongolia).
While the "turkish cuisine" is nothing other than the ages old cuisine of the populations which had been inhabiting Asia Minor centuries before the arrival of the Turan. Honestly, can anyone imagine a Mongol woman preparing and cooking "moussaka" or staffed zucchini with "avgolemono" cream in the Steppes of Mongolia?
Do I mean there is no such thing as Turkish culture and art? NO! I do not. Turkish culture and art do exist. But they are oriental, deeply influenced by the Persian and Arabic culture and art. And in any case, they are not ours. Not European, i.e., not of Greco-Roman origin.
