For goodness sake VP... do you not read the links you post!!!!...????

Again from the Hurriyet link you posted...

Energy and Natural Resources Minister Taner Yıldız rejected suggestions that the deal was a response in retaliation to Greek Cypriot and Israeli oil exploration off the coast of Cyprus.

“The deal is a result of technical work and has nothing to do with international speculation,” Yıldız said at a ceremony yesterday.

(Now if you'll excuse me, am off to carry on digging for gas in my back-yard here in North London as a retaliation for the Turkish drilling)

And you believe everything politicians or newspapers say or write??? naivety beyond belief.

Anyone can strike a deal with anyone, means nothing until you find something.

What have you found??? I'll tell you, sweet FA.

Now the RoC on the otherhand has a min of 3tcf of gas. And thats something SHOUT about.

Your stupid little games are becoming as pathetic as Halils with his constant propoganda BS he reports.

Now as long as you remain in Turkish waters thats fine, cos you have not signed the CLOTS agreements so anything goes if you strike it elsewhere. Oh I forgot, you have no legal EEZ have you??? :D :D :D

You are right until they can announce a find they have nothing but dont forget no one signs a deal unless they have a very good chance of finding something, these reserves we known of a long time ago. Good luck with your find but you GCs still have to convert your find into hard cash to support your economy so that you don't have to go cap in hand to the Russians. Just imagine for a moment the Turks hit an even bigger find we will be thanking you guys for prompting the current action.

Why do you so often feel that Turkey's actions must be a reaction, a tit-for-tat, for actions by the Republic VP????

Turkey has a massive import bill for oil and gas, in the Mega Billions of Lira range... surely it will do what it can to reduce that bill, to exploit its own resources, irrespective of anything the Republic does.

If they are exploring in Turkey's 'unofficial' EEZ, any finds belong to the Republic of Turkey and good luck to them. They are not obliged to give anything to the Turkish Cypriots or towards Cyprus and I do not recall a Turkish official saying otherwise. The Turkish Cypriots get the Piri Reis, Great game!
