During the course of last night's New Year Celebrations, United Free Cyprus increased in size!

Another part of the Buffer Zone was liberated with the freeing of what is described as an "indoor space within the Dead Zone". The Liberators write...

The Movement has just acquired a new space within the Buffer Zone which we will use for cultural and informative activities from screenings and talks to workshops and music. It will also host an exhibition changing every two weeks. Collaborate! Get in touch NOW if you can or know anyone that might be interested in running a workshop, giving a talk or any relevant activity! Let's invade the Dead Zone with culture and education!
Happy New Bullshit!

Latest from a very fluid situation in the Occupation of the Buffer Zone tonight...

The attempts by the UN/police to break the Action have been repulsed. The Occupation has been defended successfully for now.

The Occupiers write...

They've left for now but standby for further news, they might be back!

...on New Years Day, let it be remembered that Cypriots defended their Sovereignty, and that an interlocutor came out against them to serve another interest.

...if the UN forcibly removes these Patriots, they will become no better than the Bully who is so brave that he fistcuffs with their Security even at their own good offices.

...bring a flag of Cyprus to the OBZ, stop off before or after work and give it to these vanguards, drive to Nicosia and put this effort on your "To do" list while there, everyone of us, with our hometowns signed on these flags let us see a sea of flags, let them be trampled or torn down, (this unifies Cypriots further), but i imagine it is the one thing (press-wise) that will demonstrate a Solidarity in pictures that can be distributed world-wide, trampled or not, a meaning to Peoples' lives which is Cypriot, not "Greek" not "Turkish"; and i imagine the UN will not be seen to move against this will, rather, they too will be galvanised in what has been a very long struggle for the betterment of Human Rights.

...you know, i was just thinking, how much i feel a stranger in Cyprus, whenever i can visit, because in reality there are houses i can live in but i have no home, it has been a real comfort to me, this Occupation; thanks bill , i hope you can express to them my gratitude because a great weight lifted from my heart with their act, and i hope we can continue to support their resolve every way we can.

Thanks RW... very wise, very powerful and very emotional prose from you as ever.

Will try and pass on a para or two from the above to the Occupiers.

No word in the last couple of hours. As far as know, Free CY is being defended and still stands.

Happy New Year to you.

Just to update on the situation of last night when "UN/Police" tried to disrupt the Occupation. The UN/Police did not return and the Occupation continues with the additional liberated part of the Buffer Zone added to ReUnited Free Cyprus.

There are a few photos of this new bit at http://www.facebook.com/OccupyBufferZone ... from which it looks like it's one of the old shop units in the Buffer Zone, one which the Occupiers will start renovating.

Mr bill cobbett once again thank you for the pictures. This post is great I so wanna be there and join those patriots who are fighting for Cyprus.

I admire the compatriots from the occupied area who have taken the time to participate. Given they have an idiot representing them or at least some fascist TC's who want nothng but partition based on racist ideology.

Further to this I would like to encourage the young and old Cypriots in the occupied area to take out a petition against the Turkish army and its occupation of Cyprus and present it to President Christofias to represent them in the EU and to remind Europe that Cypriots are held in isolation occupation and subordination of the occupation regime and Eroglu.

(Happy New Year A)

An little incident earlier this evening when the electric supply to the buffer zone and the occupation went off in a mysterious, it was an accident guv sort of way.

The nice boys of the UN have restored the lighting, having figured out the correct and suitably accommodating setting for the buffer zone light switch.
