First Gathering of the Occupy the Invisible Green Line- UK, is in London tomorrow Friday 2 Dec 5-7.30pm at...

Hackney Cypriot Association
5 Balls Pond Road, N1 4AX London, England

Info from the Action...

Occupying the buffer zone is not solely about physical resistance. It is and will be inclusive of all the issues that separate one person from another, black from white, man from woman, nature from society. But the line separating us is not always as tangible as it is in Cyprus. Those who carry the burden of the line no matter where they are and those who are generally disturbed by the way things work in this world in general are now getting together abroad to show solidarity with "Occupy the Buffer Zone" and to occupy the "invisible green line" themselves.

The city of London is home to possibly the largest Cypriot diaspora community but unfortunately it is possible to talk about two Cypriot communities separated with the invisible green line. Within the context of "Occupy the Buffer Zone" movement now Cypriots of London and surrounding towns are ready to break down the barriers and the movement goes global... This event will be the first step of hopefully a long-lasting solidarity. Everyone living in the UK and those who are willing to be a part of the change are invited to join, to discuss, to exchange ideas and to determine the course of action for the future.

The occupiers had a visit earlier from two members of the Nicosia Municipality Council, believe Free Part thereof, ... and talk about Divisions of the Mind, this is what they had to say about the Protest...

"if you don't have any place to live, go find a wife, house and job"

... which demonstrates the huge, huge task that the Occupiers have set themselves when elected officials, speaking to the next generation of voters not only have such closed minds that they don't want to listen to messages coming out of the protest but see fit to pass reactionary judgements on the way people dress, the way they look and the way they protest.

Doubtlessly and regretfully views that may be shared by a few scallywags here on CF.

Just a few Bill Cobbett.

Kurupetos if you are a genuine Cypriot, how can you say that, you should be ashamed of your self.

Bill put me down for 10 pounds.
