No that is what you are saying. That is not what most TCs are saying, as they venture into Government Controlled Areas everyday in their thousands, just to see a doctor, use our hospitals, visit their GC friends, do some shopping, obtain ID cards, passports and go to work.

And all rush back to the safety of the TRNC.

Good evening forum.

Been following this topic with interest over the last few days

Must admit to being very sceptical about what good this could possibly do, I too thought how can a group of youngsters with no 'manifesto, and no plan (as far as I can see) change the face of Cyprus.

But to be honest Bill C has actually convinced me that only good can come of this.

Yes they are young , at the moment few in number, but, that number is growing,More publicity is being gained around the globe.

It has to start somewhere, as has been mentioned the anti war movement (vietnam) was started in the states by a few ''long haired hippies who had no policy either but just a desire to get their government to end the war.

The youngsters in the buffer zone are much the same -no policy- but the voice to tell their respective leaders to put up, talk and solve this problem..they have had enough Let us hope this voice grows louder and is eventually heard by those with the power to do something..

Rather than being shouted down by some (it seems the Majority) on forum we should be offering support to these people

and, a megalo Bravo to BillC for keeping our attention drawn to this and refusing to bow down to those on forum who would rather pretend this is a waste of time

... and thanks for your kind words Sheffy.

Where is this going? Well in a mo we'll have a look in to VP's Infallible Crystal Ball.

... but young idealists can make a difference and they can change the World. The best world-wide recent example can think of is the Environmental Movement which started off in the early "70's, really just after the Vietnam Protest movements and the Vietcong had finished the war over there. Just think back to the birth of a movement that didn't appeal to many people at the time and which a generation later is Main Stream in such a Big, Big way. So let's not be dismissive of the younger generation's views. Good ideas take off, bad ones don't.

Now, whether the ideas of the occupiers of the buffer zone last the course and spread their appeal to other younger CYs and make a difference... well let's consult VP's Crystal Ball...

Oh dear... VP! This bleeding ball is broken!...doesn't look as if it's worked in years.

As an example of the increasing amount of press coverage. For Turkish speakers, here is a Tr News programme which covers United Free Cyprus, the occupation of the Ledra Street buffer zone...

I congratulate the Kibristas for their efforts to Reunite Cyprus. Well done tto those young men who have staged this event. I so wanna camp there too. Perhaps I'll win the lotto quit work and come to Cyprus for an ongoing sitting until the people of cyprus are brought together. That means a we'll have to ensure the Eroglue is stepped down. Only people who can do this are the Turks.
