Unfortunately it seems that some Turks/TCs have
reversed the meaning of terms such as equality, peace and unity.
From the first result in Google when searching for "Political Equality":
By political equality we refer to the extent to which citizens have an equal voice over governmental decisions. One of the bedrock principles in a democracy is the equal consideration of the preferences and interests of all citizens. This is expressed in such principles as one-person/one-vote, equality before the law, and equal rights of free speech.
http://www.hks.harvard.edu/inequality/S ... /Verba.pdfWhat the Turkish side demands is in fact political
inequality where instead of having citizens who are equal regardless of race, religion, ethnicity or anything else, with democracy and one person/one vote, we would instead have some undemocratic racist apartheid system that legitimizes human rights violations and institutionalizes racist discriminations.
The same goes for the term "unity", which in the minds of most TCs is equated to legitimizing the division of Cyprus.
As far as the meaning of "Peace" for these Turks/TCs, their "Peace Operation" resulted in 1000s of deaths and 100s of thousands of refugees.
