Cold calling 'investors" to buy shares in companies which they can't sell, and where there is next to no market driving up prices. A double whammy cos the scammers will have the tradable shares so they sell them to victims pocketing the artificial increase in prices by creating the demand, as well as keeping the original investment from victims.

Sorry iron56.

it could be a bucket shop too.

There will likely be no share certificates! even if there was, who is to say it is an original certificate if the likelihood is that the client hasn't even seen one before!

Gosh... a Bucket Shop, that's two things have learnt today.

hi all

I agree with all your comments and deserve the criticism, no question.

Anyhow I also found that their settlement agent Larcosa Ltd (212 Ayias Pyhlaxeous Limassol Cyprus) whom I TT'ed the money to, is listed in globalinvestoralerts.com as Cyprus-based beneficiaries of other similar schemes. http://www.globalinvestoralerts.com/public_html/navasota_group.shtml

I guess I'll use my loss as a form of charity to other possible victims and give my bank a call - perhaps they might help to forewarn their customers before before transferring their money out to these companies.

Over here in my country, an old loan shark tradition is to take a pig's head and stuff it at the door of the people who owe them money. Are there any such local services I can employ? :D (just kidding)
