From the Noble Analysts conference held today in Houston, TX ...

Page 14 of the pdf entitled "Entire Presentation" downloadable at the link below gives the best info Noble have released to date.

They are saying a 25% chance of the Aphrodite prospect holding 9 trillion CF, rising to a 75% chance of a reserve of 3 trillion CF, and they are giving an overall prospect of geological success of 60%.

UPDATE 1-Noble estimates Cyprus prospect has 3-9 tcf of gas

Nov 15 (Reuters) - U.S.-based Noble Energy said its Cyprus A gas prospect, where exploratory drilling is now underway, had estimated gross resources of 3 to 9 trillion cubic feet (tcf) of gas.

The prospect has a 60 percent probability of geological success, Noble said in a news release on Tuesday.

Cypriot officials, who had previously given preliminary and estimated assessments that the block contained 8 to 10 tcf, said they would wait for results once drilling concluded in early to mid-December.

"I am sure that the findings will be satisfactory to all," a Cypriot energy official told Reuters.

Noble started drilling the offshore prospect south of Cyprus, which lies close to large discoveries off Israel, at the end of September.

Cyprus's move to drill for gas angered its northern neighbour and rival Turkey, which supports a breakaway Turkish Cypriot state in northern Cyprus. Ankara disputes Nicosia's right to explore for hydrocarbons, while Cyprus says it is within its sovereign rights.

Cypriot authorities will define in coming days plans to launch a new licensing round for offshore oil and gas exploration, its energy minister said on Nov. 14.

So first Noble started bragging about umpteen quantities of natural resources and now 3,000ft under we have a 60% chance? :lol:

Are they slowly preparing us for the scam of the century?

Look at it this way... the glass is 60% full... and there are also good prospects for a considerable amount of oil at a lower level to be prospected for on a future occasion.

I'm sure they have their reasons for this conservative estimate now extraction is virtually underway. Don't want to reduce the price too much by claiming a glut in the market.

Did anyone bother to read the fine print on that contract?
