Be careful young man, the path that you are considering may lead all of us into ruin ...

The 400 of Leonidas also believed very strongly in what they were doing, yet they all perished. They perished as heroes, but they perished nonetheless. The martyrs of Christ feared no one, but they were crucified. They may have earned eternal salvation, but in this world they perished.

Being brave in the face of impossible odds may earn you the title of "hero" and grant you "immortal glory", in the minds of some people at least, but it will not necessarily earn us the freedom of our country. On the contrary, under the particular circumstances of Cyprus your "heroism" will give Turkey the perfect pretext to: a) Partition Cyprus permanently, in fact with the blessings of the international community, or b) Invade the rest of the island as well.

So, please think about how your "eternal glory" will impact on the rest of us, before taking any kind of action ...

Ok then. I'd just like to know what ones.

Anyway, so am i, however, i dont want a war in cyprus, i think that armed struggle is not the way to find a solution...it does not solve the problems which cyprus would face.

Say cyprus did 'win' against turkey, what would happen to all the TCs who have lived in cyprus for centuaries? I agree, the settlers have not go a 'right' ,as such, to live in occupied properties in cyprus( or in any way the TRNC gov't wants them there for). However, you will need to understand that if a solution is to be acheived, it cannot be unilateral, and needs to consent of TCs and GCs, as well as support from the international community, including Turkey and Greece.

I think before you start to spout out your 'solution' you need to be more informed of the issues involved, by all means, we will accept your opinion, but somehow, i dont think it has been 'developed' through different, independant(if there exists, as such), or at least differing accounts of the troubles in 63-74 and the 74invasion.

wake_up,
are u taking drugs before wright some junks
btw even now u can be a hero, go and shot one turkish official/soldier at north i am sure they will be happy for appointing u to hero class

Here a path u can follow;
15 MAY 1919: Osman Nevres (pen name: Hasan Tahsin), editor-in-chief
of Hukuk-u Beser; shot dead by Greek soldiers just
after he shot them as the initial resister in the first
day of Greek invasion in Izmir.

You confirm my thinking: Your heroism might get you your own personal freedom from fear, but it won't help us - the rest of us, it's not just you who is at stake here - gain the freedom of our country.

My friend, what you have in your heart is a good beginning. You wish to be brave in your life, you wish to struggle without fear. There is however, another aspect to heroism that maybe you have not understood yet: Through our heroic acts, we must strive to relieve the suffering of other people, our compatriots or whoever else. Without this element, we cannot talk of mature heroism.

That is why a hero's choices are always difficult, not because he fears for his own life (he has already overcome that) but because he cares for the lives of those he loves.
