Yes, an LPG plant at Vassilikos or anywhere else is gonna be big in area and hugely, hugely, mega expensive.
Have heard of a cost of somewhere between 5 - 10 Billion Euros!!!
An alternative may be to transport the gas in a compressed gas state. There are advantages in that it costs a lot, lot less for the infrastructure, indeed it can be pumped straight in to purpose built ships from a well-head buoy and it's a system that can be up and ready in a couple of years.
There is a disadvantage in that the amount of gas transported with each shipment is only in the order of one-quarter of the equivalent shipping of the gas as liquid in LPG form.
Very much a system of transport that is in its commercial infancy.

The loan, which amounts to about 14 percent of the Cypriot economy, may benefit both countries as it gives Cyprus time to put its budget in order and will allow Russian companies to continue using the island as a vehicle for their domestic investment, according to Alexander Michaelides, director of the Center of Banking and Finance at the University of Cyprus.
