If Turkey does withdraw the troops and the subsidies of the "trnc", then surely the next best approach the TC's need to take is negotiated re unification. as opposed to one where it is imposed upon them when Turkey does move out and Cypurs is a gas producing nation therefore rich and can afford to take them to court individually as refugees want their lands back

Dont slap Hermes in the face with reality he dont like it.

Balls maybe(?) it has but Turkey will not have the Elbit System. (Bad luck):

Erm... the Debka report suggests that there is a narrow strip of undefined water between the CY and Israeli EEZs.

That isn't the case, the two EEZs border each other.

Turkey is firing, albeit metaphorical blanks, within the EEZs trying to provoke a reaction.

Here is a fairly decent map of the EEZs. The dotted lines mark the boundary, there is no gap between them...

(Also by the way shows the EEZ for our Palestinian friends off the Gaza Strip)

It is actually International Waters, so they can shoot as much as they like as long as they don't endanger anyone. It would be a laugh if they accidentally shot that American submarine that is supposed to be wandering around in the area!

Hermes
Forever is a long time.
Yes agreed lets say while we are alive because thats what we will see and live.

Turkey cannot keep 40,000 troops permanently in Cyprus to protect a small population.
37 years proves you wrong they are here to stay I know this makes you uncomfortable but the only chance you had to get rid them you rejected doesnt look like you will get that chance again. You are aware that there is compulsory military service in Turkey and the TRNC is just one of the many options so its not really anything extra expenses wise we are only 40 miles away from the mainland, so this argument falls flat.

It cannot afford to keep subsidising the "trnc" and it faces potential legal claims that will run into billions of euros.
Why not if it can "subsidize" the rest of Turkey it can easily support us, as you always say we are part of Turkey anyway.

As for the cases for compensation how many has Turkey actually paid, all I know for certain is Loizidou and even that is not in full. Turkey doesnt seem to concerned so why should you worry?

Add to this the strategic, economic and diplomatic cost once its EU accession collapses - and the rise of Israel and Cyprus as rival energy transits - and you have one mighty fine Turkish mess.
Turkey has and always will march to the beat of her own drum thats why I always say she is not an EU subordinate and will never enter the racist club.

You might think that it's a national cause but why do you think that Turkey is trying to come up with a way that will allow it to withdraw from Cyprus? Turkey wants rid of the Cyprob not to keep you "ungrateful parasites" living at the expense of the Turkish people.

When and where has any Turkish politician claimed otherwise, for them we are a national cause and you should pray everyday that they want to give up the north as it looks very unlikely...are you GCs conditioned this way or are you all looking for excuses..

Turkey cares about Turkey not the TCs who it doesn't give a fuck about. Get it into your head. Don't be fooled by Erdogan. You know what he thinks of the TCs. And he knows what TCs think of him. They told him in no uncertain terms!.

If you paid someone their salary for 37 years and that person told you to fuck off how would you feel? as long as you people do not allow the TCs economical freedom we will always be joined to Turkey at the hip so they cannot get rid of us easily as you wish.
