On a more serious note I think Turkey and the EU need to re-think what stance they are going to take. In my opinion the EU need sto make it clear that NO Country that occupies another will join the Union. Turkey needs to rethink its position on Cyprus and whether it is worth its exclusion from the EU. The EU on the other hand needs to rethink how it would like its States to be and what that means for smaller nations. Its not only to save the Euro it should also be about human rights

Pay attention, VP. Of course they give a shit. We've got gas by the looks of things. Lots of it. You notice how they're listening just that bit more? And that Turkey has got no friends these days?

Erm... we've all heard the "gas" talked of as a "game changer" in the last few months...

VP, know it won't come as a comfort to you but think people who describe it this way are wrong...

cos this ain't a "game-changer" ... in the next day or two we will know that this'll be playing a completely different game, a big league game, in the largest, bestest, toppest level stadia in the World.

We've never had gas before either. Also, it's not a question of forcing Turkey out but of persuading the Turks that their best interests lie in withdrawing from Cyprus. Of their own accord.

VP, nothing stays the same. Look at how much has changed in the last two years? Who'd have thought it?

You are correct but the constant being the divide will remain as neither side shows the flexibility nor really wants to unite.
