Good morning to everybody!

How can i be emancipated in Cyprus? I am a kid of both Cypriot parents.

I can support myself financially.

What is the procedure to become emancipated?

If you are able to support yourself (as you indicate) then you are already emancipated surely ?, if however, you are thinking along the lines of how you may free yourself from the bonds which may be imposed upon you by adhering to a caring traditional Cypriot family upbringing, I suggest you draw in your horns a little, there is much to be lost and little to gain (other than perceived pleasures) by opting for the alternatives.

I am assuming that you are a young Lady (of course).

Good Luck, in any event.

My apologies 'margirou' BUT, if that be the case, I really cannot understand why you should be seeking the information you requested.

Surely, by observing the behaviour of your peers and accepting the advices of your parents (who will ALWAYS have your best interests at heart) you will achieve whatever your own heart desires.

Best Wishes to you and good luck in the future.

Now now 'Sotos', let us not forget that we were ALL 16 years of age (in the distant past ?) and may well have faced the future with similar uncertainties.

Perhaps this young man might be in need of some reassurances (which others may be better able to supply him with) and such comments as he has thus far received may well be received by him as insults..........totally useless, the young man needs some sound advice (imho)

@ 'margirou', please do not be tempted to use foul language in response to insults (it NEVER works), there is a very profound adage which covers impolite exchanges admirably.

"He who slings mud, loses ground !"..................

It was not an insult but the truth. Parents are legally responsible for their children. So the answer to his question is to GROW UP. Not only he needs to grow up to be able to legally get what he wants but he also needs to grow up because he is obviously immature ;) This link below is not for Cyprus but should give you an idea.
