What “pontic Greeks” and green horses are you mumbling about?

Do you see a sovereign country called “Pontia” anywhere on the globe and you want to compare it with the nation of Cyprus?

Idiot!

What i am trying to say is that you dont have to be from greece to be greek. This map was created in 1911 before the population exchange between greece and turkey. All im saying is why forget that you are greek.

You need a Republic of Greece birth certificate and/or valid citizenship to be Greek, regardless of where you’re living.

However, if you have a Cypriot birth certificate and/or valid citizenship then you’re Cypriot not Greek!

whatever makes you happy, change it every year if you feel the need
when i hear the word cyprus it does not even register as something to do with me,it simply means greek cypriot.
when i talk about where i come from or i am talking about visiting cyprus i always refer to it as north cyprus.
the island is now divided.officially and accepted by the world, when ? who knows ? just wait it will happen.
enjoy your national anthem and enjoy the fact it means nothing to me.

Thats because Cyprus is a Greek island and you are a foreign invader who is illegally occupying a part of it ;) Cyprus was Greek, is Greek and will remain Greek. It was Greek for a long long time before the Greek national anthem even existed and it was Greek while other foreign invaders such as yourself have come and gone.

Hey Kuntish,

if you want to be part of turkey it's only 40miles due north. Cyprus, was, is and always will be greek. The few turk squatters here are only temporary. So you need to get over it.

silly boy there is no u in kentish, when will the "turk squatters" be evicted by the way,oh yes you dont know do you, never mind.when will the foreigners in south cyprus outnumber you lot by the way.hmmm its all a big mess that cant be solved isnt it,never mind.in 50 years the odd greek and turkish cypriot dialects wont exist ,funny isnt it.perhaps when there are no real cypriots left on the island some meaningfull conversation can take place.

i have said before but it is you that needs to get over it.cyprus is not a greek island and people like you thinking that it is ,is what got you in this mess in the first place.anyway if you want south cyprus to be greek ,be my guest .i am sure your mates in greece need south cyprus to deal with along with all its other problems,at least you can have the same anthem and be proud of it.

From a couple of forum stooges including Piratis…

There is absolutely NOTHING Greek about Cyprus; in fact nothing Greek even existed anywhere in the world when the Phoenician foundations of Cyprus were laid and the ancient kingdom of Cyprus flourished in the Med.

You can cry till the cows come home but history and facts cannot be modified to suit your delusions!

What you CAN claim however if it makes you feel better, is that you (personally) are somehow related to Plato, Homer, and Archimedes because your great, great, great, great…grandmother was some kind of prostitute and had sexual relations 500 miles away with those famous people (who were not even Greek btw) for your solace!

We are happy with that hypothesis for your PERSONAL STATUS but please steer clear from manufacturing bollocks about the true ancient ancestors and inheritance of true Cypriots!

And btw, please get a map and start examining it.
