The Greek national anthem is totally irrelevant to Cyprus today.

These are sentiments I agree with. however be careful with comments like that or some one like Joe might accuse you of being me, or vice versa.

Wasn't that written by a Greek? The same Greek who said that the "occupation of Cyprus is a wound of Hellenism"? If Cypriots want a national anthem written by one of the most famous and profound Greeks of recent times then who am I to complain?

What, by the way, was the situation in the early years of the Republic? ... Was there an anthem ? Anyone know?
