When we unite with Greece, we won't need a CY National Anthem. :D

Sung to the tune of "Oh when the Saints, go marching in"................ How about,

"Oh when the Brits, go marching out, Oh when the Brits go Ma-arching out,

Perhaps the Turks might march out with them, when the Brits go marching out".

(But I doubt it)

Its this Enosis shite you keep on about that was one major contributory factor to the whole f*ck up that ultimately lead to the double invasions of 1974, starting with the first eveil A Plan, the Acritas Plan, which I think Clerides said Papadop wrote, right through to the Junta lead Coup" - the trouble is that many those involved at the time were as thick as pig-shit,, thought they could get away with it, and totaly underestimated the the likely Turkish reposnse. That or tyhe Greek Junta knew the the Turks were going to invade and had really betyryaed Cyprus by agreeing some sort of a carg=ve up of the Island: Eoka B were their stooges. The rest as they say is history.

(One of the other causes was Takism, and a third was Makarios totla misreading of the workd Geopolitical situation which made the way he palyed the non-aloigned game vey likley to upset the people who had stopped the Tur*s invading in 1974.

Enosis would probably have leaft Cyprus as a backwards peasant based/tourist economy : there would be far fewer jobs, in particular the btter paid head office jobs, in the Government and financial sectors: even more of the talented go-getters would leave.

The trouble is that the Enosisphiliacs (another condition for GR's list) are (IMHO) still as thik as pig-shit in following this philosphy.

I am for the true independance of Cyprus from all foreign states which Iincludes the Modern nation state of GREECE, and INCLUDING THE ABOLITION OF THE SBA's) and as part of this Cyprus should have its own national anthem, and its own holidays which are relvenet to Cyprus, not Greece, for example replacing Ochi day with All Saints day.

A minor problem for you here.

Pallikarides joined EOKA dreaming of the union of Cyprus with HELLAS.
Just before dying he sang the Hellenic National Anthem.
Even suggesting to change our Anthem with his poem would be an Υβρις to his memory.

Ela papouli na sou dixo ta horafkia sou.

No, he was not fundamentally pro ENOSIS. And I live on Odos Evagoras Pallikarides and should know. 8)

I think Evagoras would be insulted if he was alive listening to your stupidity. And don't you EVER tell me what is Υβρις to his memory.

Typical Greek Nationalist trying to steel EVERYTHING!

This has probably been discussed before, but now its time to evaluate this topic once more, with a poll.

Of course it has, by you no less using another alias.

But as the british brigade knows..., .

"The British Brigade" Fantastic term. It says it all.
Thank you for bringing it up.
I will use it as often as possible if I have your permission.
