License agreement on Oil Zone services

Postby halil » Wed Nov 02, 2011 10:04 pm

Turkish Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Taner Yildiz has arrived in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus to attend the signing ceremony of an agreement regarding the licenses issued for the Turkish Petroleum Corporation on oil zone services and the share of production. The agreement was signed between the TRNC Minister of Economy and Energy Sunat Atun and the Turkish Minister today. The agreement will allow the Turkish Petroleum Corporation to do three dimensional seismic research and drilling within the TRNC territory as well as its surrounding waters. It will come into force following the approval of the TRNC Parliament.Turkish Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Taner Yıldız noted that the Continental Shelf Delineation agreement signed between Turkey and the TRNC was a necessary step in terms of benefits of the two countries.
Yıldız also highlighted the importance of the oil zone services and the share of production agreement signed between the two countries today and expressed the belief that works that will be carried out between Turkey and the TRNC will produce positive results.

You mean the Turks have come to the occupied Cyprus to do illegal business. Hehehehhe
Your article is laughable to say agreement between the two countries. It is more likely that Turkey will explore the seabed around Cyprus which is probably illegal under law of the sea etc. and they may give you pocket money if they feel like it. Not even the Turks recognise you as a Country. Just a convenient lie for them.

I agree .......... the thing is the TC's are creating these issues for themselves and the rest of Cypriots. Because they are greedy. Three months ago they were protesting against Turkey and the position it took on Cyprus. But like sluts they see the $$$$$ so they now back in cahoots with the invador.

Well this blustery rhetoric with a photo opportunity (and that's all it is of course) has the ring of the Huge Mega Water Pipeline to the Occupied Areas that we've been promised for the last 20 years and the 200 miles of Super Highways we heard about a few weeks ago but what is really ludicrous is that the basis for this agreement relies on the sidesplittingly laughable attempts by the Broken Down Rust Bucket Piri Reis to "survey" in a refreshing sea-breeze in CY waters and the surveys by the boats of CGGVeritas, which quite rightly refused to go anywhere near the legitimate CY EEZ and confined their activities to the Turkish coast in the Bay of Antalya.

... and if all this that wasn't humiliation enough for Turkey, they are now also threatening to dig themselves in to an even deeper oil well by threatening to spend 150 million USD on a survey ship... oh if only the high tech super computer world of oil/gas surveying were as simple as writing a promissory note.

So is Turkey/”TRNC” admitting that the Piri-Piri was a blunder?
