First of all you must learn that the right name of the city is THESSALONIKI.
Thessaloniki is the capital of a region called MACEDONIA which was Greek from the ancient years (when you turks were living in Mongolia)

so why did turks leave there??

Human rights violations continue in Greece. Thankfully Amnesty International has revealed the plight and suffering of so many people in the state of Greece, which would otherwise remain hidden behind the "european" face of the country.
