Turkish MP calls for Boycott of the "TRNC"

Postby Hermes » Tue Nov 01, 2011 12:12 am

A Turkish MP has called for a Turkish boycott of the so-called 'TRNC':

"Phoney republic"

Under the above front page title, Turkish Cypriot daily Afrika (31.10.11) reports on statements by Hasip Kaplan, a Turkish MP from Sirnak with Peace and Democracy Party (BDP). Kaplan with his statements in the Turkish Grand National Assembly (TBMM) criticized the decision taken by breakaway regime's "council of ministers" to expel 18 students of Kurdish origin.

Kaplan said inter alia: "The state in Cyprus, which you call it 'small homeland' and turn it into a phoney republic, is a banana republic. [...] This land has been turned into a centre for money laundering, mafia and prostitution, then our people should not study in the universities, not take their money, not open their doors, the Ministry of National Education should not accredit their universities. They were afraid that 18 Kurdish students would destroy the country's peace!"

But only a Turk would send his kids for an “education” at the centre for money laundering, mafia and prostitution… and then expose it! :?
