What is their ethnicity?

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

What is the ethnicity of those Cypriots who do not belong to the main Cypriot ethnic groups?

In fact to do so Sotos, would be to completely ignore the millenniums of ancient Cypriots that have lived here (Choirokitians, Sotirans, etc) and just wipe the island clean (genocide) to start afresh with foreigners!

Did Greeks conduct a genocide on Cyprus Sotos?

According to Sotos, American, Canadian and Australian ethnicity does not exist also.
Hate to break it to you Soto, but you're wrong. As long as there is a globally recognized independent sovereign self governing entity in existence the local population of that territory will inherit that nationality regardless of ancestry.

You can claim Greek ancestry but you can't claim Greek nationality.

you're confusing ethnicity with nationality; in the case of these soulless nations, only the latter exists

Do not confuse our nationalists with your poison. We stand united, and when someone is in danger of the dangerous serpent, then we will strike as one.

And do not insult our nation or ethnicity.

Do any of our Cypriot brethren on the forum possess any of these two?

No he's right. The people of the country will inherit that nationality.

Mind you this is a bit confusing.

What would the criteria be to claim a certain ethnicity as opposed to a certain nationality?

Think of it this way: the descendants of protestant englishman, catholic irish, west african slaves, american indians, and spanish settlers (as well as many others) have lived in the US for hundreds of years; they're all US nationals but it would be a tough argument to make that they are all the same ethnicity, ergo there is not a 1-1 mapping between ethnicity and nationality. I don't know what ethnicity is, but I know what it isn't.

Only through perfect genocide can a people’s ethnicity be eliminated!

Are these Hellenes or wanton Spartans, trying to tell us something?

Was the ancient Cypriot civilization; that precedes anything "Greek" by millenniums, eliminated by Greek hoards that arrived by boats?

If that’s the case then they will have to fix the discrepancies in their history books to better reflect what they preach!

The Ottomans differentiated people by calling them Christians and Muslims. They didn't need to invent anything ;) Next thing you will be telling us that Ottomans forced Cypriots to speak in Greek  If we go by your definition then Turkish Cypriots, Armenian Cypriots, Latin Cypriots etc are not Cypriots.

There is not a shred of evidence to back your nonsense!

It follows that the natives of ANY given country inherit the ethnicity bestowed upon them by their ancient ancestors and not that of irrelevant people from far away lands!

Forget the Greek gymnasium rubbish Sotos and start using your common sense!

Our ancestors were Greek which is why we speak Greek for 1000s of years. It makes perfect sense. And yes the ancestors of the majority of the people in USA, Australia and Canada were English that is why they speak English.
