This has got to be the third. What a bunch of revisionist malarky. Why are you so jealous for "King" Saxon? You honestly think anyone here is going to change their thinking because of a filthy Saxon told them to? King Saxon, nice name but its seemingly self-contradictory. Not in this forum, bitz.

OMG, now do you all believe me that you are just a bunch of uneducated Ottoman gypsies.

What the hell is this bitz word? We need a Turkish translator please.....

If you can't have a grown-up and sensible discussion then sod off. My profile name doesn't mean anything. Its a parody - But as someone like you, the people in general supporting this ethnic nationalist clap trap and referring to me as......"filthy Saxon"...you have actually lowered yourself to the level of mere insults. Ethnicity is a pure invention. Ethnic nationalism, you the perpetrators of this myth that has been propounded for the past 200 years!

So evidently its your racism versus my purported revisionism. Better sounding than a bunch of neo-Social Darwinists. I merely pointed out well researched information something you appear to be lacking in your arsenal...So far your strongest argument has been insults "arrogant" and "filthy SAxon". Good luck on the Front Line because with this attitude you won't last long. I am assuming that in the name of so-called Greek-~Cypriot Nationalism you intend to prove the legitimacy of The Greek-Cypriot race possibly by the whole sale elimination of all others including us polyethnics (of course all of you are of one ethnicity).

But you know what the last time I witnessed such ignorant ideological clap-trap was on Facebook and the threads on YoutUbe. Maybe you should stick to those kind of forums because they hover just around your age range as no mature educated person would engage in debate the way that you guys have (excluding those on here who have not taken you seriously and have supplanted you with humour). On that note you won't here from me again in these discussions unless I am protecting zee fatherland. Heil Hitler! [salutes].

Think you got the wrong person.

Never mentioned anything about your name or make any aspersions against you!

Was actually going to comment on your excellent posting. Your intelligence may be beyond most Greek ottoman remnants here, as they have the IQ of a porcupine, but it is not lost on Cypriot nationalists who are beyond their Eastern ways.

Yes, I am a Cypriot nationalist! Not a Greek Cypriot Nationalist. I find your error most insulting.

So Heil Cyprus!!!!!!!

And it is your lucky day. You have come across our movement which is all inclusive and non devisive. Even you would be welcome within our warm embrace provided you love Cyprus enough to never undermine it or its future inhabitants. Our nationalism is bi partisan, includes Christians, Muslims, Atheists, feminists....you name it. Only one thing is important, a love for our country and culture, by denying all the enemies of cyprus who undermine her with their insecure "motherland" antics which will only create division amongst our people, and play in the hands of the partitionist fascists.

Your "movement", if you can call it that, has three old worthless members who have no life and all reside in the UK. So, shouldn't you be yelling Heil the UK??!!!

DooDaDoo wrote:Get Real!, these are good points but they don't change anything. The Greek language somehow, even if not by numerically important migrations, found its way to Cyprus and it somehow became dominant throughout the island with few exceptions (Amathus and Kition basically) and even those exceptions disappeared in Hellenistic times or thereabouts.

Similarly, from Archaic to Hellenistic times relations between Cyprus and the rest of the Greek world (please don't whine at the term again) strengthened to the degree that Greek sacred envoys visited Cypriot cities and Cypriots visited mainland Greek centers. For Roman up to Ottoman times, little needs to be said: most of the time, all Greeks were part of the same political entity and there's a reason they ALL used the same ethnonym (Romios) up to modern times. Greek nationalism was also very successful in Cyprus in modern times, with the exception of "Cypriotists" who made their voices heard mostly post-1974.

Everyone can make whatever choices they want (ideologically, politically etc.) but there's no need to deny or distort everything that occurred in the last 3000 years. 8)

kingsaxon, your points are atrocious. You can't understand that you are the one making genetic and "racial" arguments and not anyone else who's basically following the idea that ethnicity is socially constructed but they still like that construct and believe that it doesn't entail racism towards anyone.

Sorry DooDadoo. Hello and welcome to the forum.

Wonderful. When can we meet for a frappe one of these day. Send me a pm and we can talk about what is a Ottoman remnant. Isn't it funny how you and your other aliases like to use that term on Greek Cypriots, ehh Get Real? How are you going to call me an Ottoman remnant? You out of all people? Every time you start something like this, we get an abundance of other threads that attempt to erase who we are. Like religion. Who are these Atheist Brits coming here to tell us who or what to believe? The funny thing is you and your two friends think that what you guys say here matters in the real life. Or how about-why cant Cypriots just only speak English so that we can all understand each other? When is that thread coming along? Bitz, this is not the British colony you grew up in. Your dreaming of a by-gone error. Move your old @ss out of the way BECAUSE YOUR CLUELESS.

Ottoman remnant? Haaa! In closing i'd like to say that I know how this forum is important to you so nag away you little bitz. 8)

I'm sorry but there won't be much chance of that happening. I don't meet up with Ottoman remnants.

As for the Atheist thread, I suggest you go and have a chat with Atheist and tell him off over his audacity. What's wrong Ottoman remnant, is it too hard for you to accept that others muight have alternative points of view?

You don't even know who you are, you are too stupid for that.

I couldn't care less about Atheism, although the topic is interesting. I have more pressing issues such as trashing your Ottoman ideals and putting an end to your embezzlement of Cypriot history. And judging by all the new members, I would say that we are doing a good job. How insecure can you get poof boy?

Sotos wrote:There is no Cypriot Ethnicity. The term Cypriot refers to the local population of Cyprus most of whom are of the Greek ethnicity. The Ottomans differentiated people by calling them Christians and Muslims. They didn't need to invent anything ;) Next thing you will be telling us that Ottomans forced Cypriots to speak in Greek  If we go by your definition then Turkish Cypriots, Armenian Cypriots, Latin Cypriots etc are not Cypriots.

There is not a shred of evidence to back your nonsense!

It follows that the natives of ANY given country inherit the ethnicity bestowed upon them by their ancient ancestors and not that of irrelevant people from far away lands!

Forget the Greek gymnasium rubbish Sotos and start using your common sense!

ETHNOS

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ethnic_group

Terminology and definition
The terms ethnicity and ethnic group are derived from the Greek word ἔθνος ethnos, normally translated as "nation".[5] The terms refer currently to people thought to have common ancestry who share a distinctive culture.
Herodotus is the first who stated the main characteristics of ethnicity in the 5th century BCE, with his famous account of what defines Greek identity, where he lists kinship (Greek: ὅμαιμον - homaimon, "of the same blood"[6]), language (Greek: ὁμόγλωσσον - homoglōsson, "speaking the same language"[7]), cults and customs (Greek: ὁμότροπον - homotropon, "of the same habits or life").[8][9][10]
Now then, if GCs do not belong to the Greek ETHNOS how come the GC dialect is exactly the same with that of the Cycladic Islands? Even the pronunciation is exactly the same. Being in a village in Rodos, for instance, and listening to the locals speaking in their local dialect, one thinks he is in Cyprus. What happened? Have the people of Rodos invaded Cyprus or are they Cypriots? Or are we Rodites?
And how come our grand parents and some elders who never went to school used and still use ancient greek forms of speech such as “pothen eisai”, “pou pasin” “hamai” “pomine” (= ypomine) instead of “perimene” e.t.c.? Is this "gymnasium rubbish"?
Now, to those who claim that all Cypriots belong to the same “Cypriot Ethnos”. Are you sure TCs, Armenians, Maronites and Latin Cypriots feel the same?? Hardly. As far as I know they are very proud of their ethnicity and they are not ashamed of it nor do they try to hide it or to reject it.

Correction of my above post:
Please read "Dodekanese Islands" insted of "Cycladic islands".

Just one more quick follow up for those that did not catch it. Why is Get Real still posting under the Get Smart alias? Makes you think how many aliases this quack created?

Wonderful but how many of those accounts did you create? And your two friends?

It was fun.
