What is their ethnicity?

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

What is the ethnicity of those Cypriots who do not belong to the main Cypriot ethnic groups?

It’s by no accident that Greece is bankrupt because just as the “TRNC” is the illegal Turkish-occupied territory of Cyprus, so too is “Greece” the Balkan Gypsy occupied territory of Europe!

And what are these Balkan Gypsies if not Ottomans? Ha?

Put 1+1 together Oracle…

OK so now the clever ones are the Ottomans because they have fooled the whole of Europe into co-operating to save these well disguised Balkan Gypsies!

Ottomania is alive and well in Greece which also explains why they conspired with Turkey to partition Cyprus!

They thought to themselves…

“We are one people! Bulgaria, Albania, Greece, Turkey…who is to know whose mother had who!”

You see, unlike the religious Cypriots the “Greeks” didn’t care much about mingling with the Ottomans so these Balkan tribes fused together.

mmm... GIG's initial posts were deceptively concise, void of the colourful articulate talent of the former Oracle.
but...increasing word manipulations, clever defensive twists backed by copious amounts of historical knowledge is leading me to believe that GIG is actually Oracle.....

I think you're right GR.

So who the fuck do these Slavic gypsies think they are calling their tossings and two donums of land “The Hellenic World”? Ha?

Are you for fucking real?

GR,

You're all mixed up. There is a Chinese world of culture. A Russian world of culture. Just as there is a Hellenic world of culture of which Cyprus is a key contributor. And actually it is the West which sees itself as the inheritor of the Hellenic tradition: justice, human dignity, democracy and freedom are ideas first given full expression in Ancient Greece and which formed the basis of the Western Enlightenment which in turn gave birth to the modern Greek State. This is why Shelley could claim that "We are all Greeks now!" So you see GR, you're a Greek whether you like it or not.

The only alternative you've presented us to Cyprus's contribution to the Hellenic tradition is the autocthonous Neoliths who inhabited Cyprus prior to the Mycenean arrival. Maybe you are a hairy, Stone Age Cypriot throwback. If so, good luck with it. There are some nice caves you can live in. Let us know how you get on...

Although Miltiades never gave me the time of day, it would be great to have him back, albeit with a different username....
Malapapa too, bearing in mind the vicious similarities to ZoC.. I dunno what to believe anymore.

Sotos wrote:There is no Cypriot Ethnicity. The term Cypriot refers to the local population of Cyprus most of whom are of the Greek ethnicity. The Ottomans differentiated people by calling them Christians and Muslims. They didn't need to invent anything ;) Next thing you will be telling us that Ottomans forced Cypriots to speak in Greek  If we go by your definition then Turkish Cypriots, Armenian Cypriots, Latin Cypriots etc are not Cypriots.

There is not a shred of evidence to back your nonsense!

It follows that the natives of ANY given country inherit the ethnicity bestowed upon them by their ancient ancestors and not that of irrelevant people from far away lands!

Forget the Greek gymnasium rubbish Sotos and start using your common sense!

ETHNOS

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ethnic_group

Terminology and definition
The terms ethnicity and ethnic group are derived from the Greek word ἔθνος ethnos, normally translated as "nation".[5] The terms refer currently to people thought to have common ancestry who share a distinctive culture.
Herodotus is the first who stated the main characteristics of ethnicity in the 5th century BCE, with his famous account of what defines Greek identity, where he lists kinship (Greek: ὅμαιμον - homaimon, "of the same blood"[6]), language (Greek: ὁμόγλωσσον - homoglōsson, "speaking the same language"[7]), cults and customs (Greek: ὁμότροπον - homotropon, "of the same habits or life").[8][9][10]
Now then, if GCs do not belong to the Greek ETHNOS how come the GC dialect is exactly the same with that of the Cycladic Islands? Even the pronunciation is exactly the same. Being in a village in Rodos, for instance, and listening to the locals speaking in their local dialect, one thinks he is in Cyprus. What happened? Have the people of Rodos invaded Cyprus or are they Cypriots? Or are we Rodites?
And how come our grand parents and some elders who never went to school used and still use ancient greek forms of speech such as “pothen eisai”, “pou pasin” “hamai” “pomine” (= ypomine) instead of “perimene” e.t.c.? Is this "gymnasium rubbish"?
Now, to those who claim that all Cypriots belong to the same “Cypriot Ethnos”. Are you sure TCs, Armenians, Maronites and Latin Cypriots feel the same?? Hardly. As far as I know they are very proud of their ethnicity and they are not ashamed of it nor do they try to hide it or to reject it.

What the Choirokitians had built in 7,000BC was in fact a METROPOLIS given what everyone else in the world, including your gypsy Greece, was doing… squatting to piss in caves!

Actually your Greeks were not even pissing yet as they didn't exist for another 5-6 millenniums!

Idiot!

And you claim to be the one who isn't force-fed assumptions and baseless narratives!

That much-touted '50% loss' is nothing more than the reduction of an otherwise extortionist interest rate unfairly charged by the mass profiteering of all the opportunist lenders over many years!

Or, do you now support unregulated capitalism?

Oh here we go. Now you are going to blame your incompetence and gypsy Otooman ways on capitalism.

Why is your hand holding your head like that?
