What is their ethnicity?

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

This robust movement of Cypriot Nationalism which is sweeping before you, and which you're most fortunate to witness since you are presented with an opportunity to join our ranks, is a movement that glorifies the Cypriot identity above all others. The movement is bi partisan, and comprises individuals which do not require any attachments to the so called "mothers" because we are a strong nation of people that will forge ahead through sheer adversity and sacrifice, to carve out our very own destiny, glorify our own history and nurture our own identity and not adopt any unwanted disease ridden, uncivilized 3rd world traits of either Greece or Turkey. Many of us are neither supporters of AKEL or Omonoia, and find Christofias an embarrassment. We are just Nationalists. And you can become one too.

We are here, Cypriot and proud and we stand tall and will strike at the heart of evil that has infiltrated many poor Cypriot souls.

No problem with your Cypriot nationalism ;) But what is your ethnicity if it is not Greek or any of the known ethnic minorities?

well, I think that Greeks and Turks have much in common with the Arabs. :)

The main ethnic group of Cyprus is of course Cypriot!

The "Greek" in the "Greek Cypriot" label stems from a MANUFACTURED political pseudo name invented by the Ottomans who needed to differentiate between the native Christians and the imported Muslims on the island for tax and other purposes.

There was a time when Phoenicians and Cypriots could not be differentiated...

With all the balony you've posted here, I'm surprised you can think!

An ethnic group (or ethnicity) is a group of people whose members identify with each other, through a common heritage, often consisting of a common language, a common culture (often including a shared religion) and/or an ideology that stresses common ancestry or endogamy.

That would make 500 million people British, but you try telling that to them.

If anything, 30 million people need to understand that they are Cypriot, and succumb to the motherland. :D

There is no Cypriot Ethnicity. The term Cypriot refers to the local population of Cyprus most of whom are of the Greek ethnicity. The Ottomans differentiated people by calling them Christians and Muslims. They didn't need to invent anything ;) Next thing you will be telling us that Ottomans forced Cypriots to speak in Greek  If we go by your definition then Turkish Cypriots, Armenian Cypriots, Latin Cypriots etc are not Cypriots.

I can not believe my eyes. Am I seeing things? Unfortunately I'm not. I am witnessing someone who has offended the Cypriot nation and its ethnos. My dear fellow, go and wash your tongue and have a shower. Apply an ointment of Zivania to kill the bacteria that has infested your body.

I am shocked, hurt, as if a thousand toxic Spartan Spears have pierced my heart.

Then come back and apologise.

There is not a shred of evidence to back your nonsense!

It follows that the natives of ANY given country inherit the ethnicity bestowed upon them by their ancient ancestors and not that of irrelevant people from far away lands!

Forget the Greek gymnasium rubbish Sotos and start using your common sense!
