Phileftheros reporting that the Sardine Trawler Piri Reis has again had to abandon its ludicrous attempts at "surveying" due to a refreshing breeze off CY's southern coast.

It's returned to port in Occupied Famagusta.

It's back to Turkey for the Piri Reis. Shame. It gave us all a good laugh...

The Turkish vessel Piri Reis should complete its exploration for gas and oil by tomorrow, Turkish press said yesterday.

Very poor reporting by the Snail again, which repeats word for word the rubbish coming out of Turkey.

For example, here's a para...

... "He was referring to the Norway-flagged Burgen Surveyor, owned by French company CGG Veritas which is conducting undersea research off Cyprus’ coast on behalf of Turkey. ..."

We know from marine traffic.com that the Bergen Surveyor and the other French survey boats haven't come anywhere close to CY's EEZ, confining their activities to just off the coast of Turkey... and we also know that the Bergen Surveyor has withdrawn to Istanbul or the Black Sea beyond.

Rubbish, inaccurate reporting of the sort in this CyM article should worry us all. Lazy journalism at its best. Unquestioning Journalism that can't be bothered to check out a few simple facts.

Looks like we have seen the last of the Clapped Out Sardine Trawler Piri Reis, which after spending the last week sheltering from a Gentle Breeze in the Med and carrying out a very thorough seismic survey of the harbour in Occupied Famagusta is retreating to port in Turkey and presumably heading for the Breaker's Yard.

Goodbye Piri Reis and thanks for the light relief.
