As you may all know, the Trojan war took place around 1380 bc. The king of Cyprus at that time was Kinyras, the son of Paphos. The Greeks sent envoys to him to ask for ships and troops. Kinyras promised 50 ships and gave to the envoys a valuable armour to be given to Agamemnon as a gift.
He later sent only one ship with troops and, believe it or not, 49 dummies (models of ships), to complete the 50 he had promised.
As for the oldest existence etc.
The wooden disk (script) of Dispilio-Greece is aged around 5.500 bc while the script of Dali (Idalion) around 1.100 bc

@get smart. Mythology (mytho-logia).
Mythos = the story told oraly. According to a foundamental Ancient Greek Legal Principal (equaly foundamental in modern law internatiolnaly): "Mideni dikin dikaseis prin amfi MYTHON akouseis". i.e., Do not pass judgement on anyone prior to listening to the "Mythos" (story) of both sides!
Therefore, "mythologia" actually menas the study of the myths, ie, the stories that passed from generation to generation oraly. (See also the same idication in relation to the sciences of "anthropo-logia", "geo-logia" "astro-logia" etc).

Thousands of years ago a brave Cypriot decided to load his wares on a boat and headed for Egypt.

In which direction did he go?

Get Real will know I am sure.

You logged in with the wrong username. :lol:

I only have one username, as dangerous as it is.

And I am here for a purpose.
