Thousands of years ago a brave Cypriot decided to load his wares on a boat and headed for Egypt.

In which direction did he go?

The Cyprus copper king whose name we may never know is a REAL hero and certainly not some manufactured story about a Greek guy who was dipped into a magic potion that made him invincible, bar his heel from where his mother held him!

And what about that first Cypriot who witnessed the Ottoman landing of 1570 and saw the Janissaries waving their sabers on the shores of Limassol and said…

“Those are fine looking barbecue skewers! Do you have them in packs of 10?”

For such is the great spirit of the Cypriot…

The Poseidonians

The Poseidonians forgot the Greek language
after so many centuries of mingling
with Tyrrhenians, Latins, and other foreigners.
The only thing surviving from their ancestors
was a Greek festival, with beautiful rites,
with lyres and flutes, contests and wreaths.
And it was their habit toward the festival's end
to tell each other about their ancient customs
and once again to speak Greek names
that only few of them still recognized.
And so their festival always had a melancholy ending
because they remembered that they too were Greeks,
they too once upon a time were citizens of Magna Graecia;
and how low they'd fallen now, what they'd become,
living and speaking like barbarians,
cut off so disastrously from the Greek way of life.

Hello Cap.

How is our Super Rugby Team going?

You know, if they keep working hard, they will qualify for a World Cup. Look at where Romania is now.

They may face the HAKKA, and that should be a proud moment for all Cypriots.

Paphitis, is losing control of his sock puppets… he also came up with that “Good idea” or whatever he was called!

He’ll need a personnel database soon…
