pvte witt: The Thin Red Line

Is a favorite movie of mine.

Must be a favorite of yours as well.

This great evil. Where does it come from? How'd it steal into the world? What seed, what root did it grow from? Who's doin' this? Who's killin' us? Robbing us of life and light. Mockin' us with the sight of what we might've known. Does our ruin benefit the earth? Does it help the grass to grow, the sun to shine? Is this darkness in you, too? Have you passed through this night?

That always get me.

So pvte witt, what's your favorite scene? What did you like about the movie?

For those that don't know, check out how powerful this movie is.....

I like the scene in which the colonel speaks in classical Greek to Captain Staros, I believe he quotes Homer - "rosy fingered dawn", but my classical Greek is rusty..."[something] rododaktykos"...

I will speak to you briefly this evening.

It was really good how Captain Staros looked after his men, but would your's do the same or are you just the cannon fodder?

Yes good scene I must say. The "Eos rodaktylos" or the dawn before battle.

I liked it when Staros said "don't let me betray my men".

Very powerful word that is - betray. Probably something we should all strive for even in our daily lives. Don't betray, whether that be your friends, family, your subordinates, your soldiers (don't send them to their death) - cannon fodder.

pvte witt, are you familiar with The Battle For Guadalcanal? Or did you just like the movie? Or was it just Homer's Epithet that caught your attention?

Well, shiver me timbers if the schizophrenic sparrow of the six seas isn't back in full sail after the Simon-slapping scenario!

He sure did get a slapping GIG, and your next!

Btw, since we are down to revealing people's bio, should I stoop?

Will you be sending me 38 PMTs now. You really must seek treatment for that.

As I said .... schizophrenic! And paranoid!

However, there is a higher authority we can consult if you have forgotten it was you who sent me a PM and invited a response!

And I resent the accusations you have been making, in your drunken delusional state, here and in other posts.

Or, is this another of your ploys for attention?

Unlike you, I didn't rejoin to deceive anyone.

You were outed, by others before I even rejoined - and frankly, it did not interest me one little bit, then or know, in who you are!

Perhaps you can contact Admin to do the honours and confirm I did not send you ANY PMs before you initiated contact - in order to extract from me others' identities!

I'm really not interested in your ongoing games ... and this is frankly the sort of repition I can do without.

No need! The evidence is all there, and let's just say they were not you, they impersonated you quite expertly and I have no doubt that even if such be the case, you were involved. And no, I am not here to deceive anyone, but I have a clear right to my own privacy thank you very much!
