Via the miracle that is google translate:

Agreement with Russia seems to have closed the Republic for extracting hydrocarbons in at least two plots in Cyprus Exclusive Economic Zone. This is reportedly the newspaper "Today" the ratio of arrival next month of the aircraft carrier "Admiral Kuznetsov" and battle squadron of the Russian navy. The Russian ship is not impossible to reach a Cypriot port, in a symbolic gesture of support for Cyprus against Turkish threats.

While France, Britain and Norway 'flirt' other Cypriot sites expressing willingness to cooperate with Nicosia.

Meanwhile, Minister of Energy and Natural Resources of Turkey Taner Yildiz, announced today and the third ship involved in seismic surveys around the island. This ship, he said, lies in about 40 days. Referring also to so-called Ankara Agreement - pseudostate, challengingly said that apart from the continental shelf of Turkey, the studies will continue in the north and south.

Israeli press reports do also reason for exercise of the Israeli Air Force in the airspace of Cyprus, energy is interpreted as another clear warning of Tel Aviv to the Erdogan government.

So we've parcelled out our EEZ to the US, Russia and France. Only China and the UK missing from the UN Security Council for a full house! China is our mate anyhow. So any reason anyone can think of why the good old UK is missing out?

Same reason why Greece was actually offered a plot by the RoC and they declined. Why?

Because they are a bunch of pansies...

Seriously, I can't respect them because they are such girl blouses.

Could it also be that under the discredited Annan Plan the Brits cunningly tried to claim a share of Cyprus's EEZ for themselves?

I doubt it.

They would know that such a scenario wouldn't exist if a new Federal Plan is negotiated.

Nonetheless, it is more a case of Oil Companies bidding for the plots. It is not in actual fact the US, Israel, Russia, and France, but corporations such as Noble, Shell, BP etc

Nations get involved when their economic interests are jeopardised.

Anyway, this thread "The Russians are coming" reminds me of all the promises of Greece's Guarantorship and Cyprus "being at the epicentre of their defence doctrine"

We've been waiting for the Spartans and Russians since 74, and considering we were non aligned, I would have thought that perhaps Russia should also be responsible and give Cyprus a hand out of obligation. And what about the EU? Well, where the hell are they?

But at least they are coming!

To me, it goes to show one thing. Only Israel can be relied upon!

I look forward to liberation day, and the day Turkey becomes an EU member as a result. The very next day, I look forward to the RoC withdrawing from the EU, because they are as useless as tits on a bull.

The only nation that matters, in our neck of the woods, is Israel. Perhaps they should negotiate an Economic Union of their own.
