Correction, France is militarily head & shoulders above Britain.

Only problem is that French tanks have 6 gears. 5 reverse and 1 forward....

Q: What do you call a French man killed defending his country?
A: I don't know either, its never happened!

Yeah sure… tell that to a French Legionnaire’s face… he’ll tie you into a knot!

That would almost be as bad as picking a fight against a SAS!

Do you fucking think I'm mad?

On their way...

Russian Gazprom eyes Cyprus gas reserves

The Russian energy giant Gazprom is reported to be interested in gaining the exploration rights for natural gas in Cyprus’ exclusive economic zone.

According to Cyprus state run television, Gazprom is ready to start exploration in two offshore areas, near the Aphrodite plot, which is currently being drilled by the Texas based Nobel Energy group.

Gazprom is the largest extractor of natural gas in the world and the largest Russian company.

Meanwhile, state radio reported that “The Admiral Kuznetsov” class aircraft carrier along with an armada of Russian naval craft is expected to sail for the eastern Mediterranean on November 19th from their base in the Barents Sea.

The report said that the aircraft carrier would be carrying 24-fixed wing planes and a number of helicopters. It has also been reported that the Russian navy may request to use port facilities in Cyprus.

Russian relations with Cyprus are at their best in many years. A fortnight ago the Russian Ambassador to Cyprus Vyacheslav Shumskiy said that Moscow fully supports the sovereign right of Cyprus to exploit its natural resources.

“Our position is absolutely clear , and we were among the first countries to comment on that, and we totally support the sovereign right of the Cypriot people for exploitation of natural resources , this is totally in accordance with the international law and with the EU regulations, so there is no doubt about that”, he noted.

Invited to comment on Turkish threats against Cyprus, he said that Turkey’s position is not “very wise”.

The next chapter is when the countries that get the leases tell Turkey firmly to bugger off the Cyprus EEZ. The pickings are too rich to let a second rate entity get in the way.

A Russian Navy battle group has about as many ships as the whole Turkish navy. The signals are clear.

Well, if the Ruskys get a plot, they could deliver them via the back door as they would have every reason to be in the area. This way the Americunts and the britwits cannot refuse us defence when at the same time are arming a terroist state called turkey to the teeth! :D :D :D

Ontop of that, we could negotiate it as part the deal in the first place, da da!

Why buy anything, why part with good money when this little boat and its escorts are shortly to be mooring in Limassol harbour for free...

That carrier won't be in Cyprus forever, Cyprus needs an air defence system and ant-ship missile system in case the Turks try anything.
