i'm sure israel would gladly replace any particular grains of sand the judean arabs lost ten times over if it would lead to peace.

ie the British decided that they wanted startegic place in the Mediteranian, The Cypriots refusing to give it to them so they create the Turkish invasion using the TC minority as excuse.

Welcome to the real world!

You see Humanist, you can scream all you like for a free Palestine, but that won't achieve much. You see, the Israelis didn't invade. They settled in a British colony, and were granted Statehood by the international community. A far cry from the sotuation in Cyprus. And who can deny their attachment to those very lands when some Spartans are still claiming an attachment to Istanbul and modern day Turkey?

And what do you mean by a free Palestine anyway? Does this mean a 2 State solution which was offered many times in the past, or should the Jews just pack up and leave altogether? And if they leave, where do they go?

And you hit the nail right on the head. You see, the division of Cyprus is OUR fault. It is the fault of people such as Makarios, Grivas, the Leftists who were too fucking stupid to allow the US to have bases on the island. The previous generation fucked up, the current generation is paying for the previous generations stupidity, as now, we don't have US bases, but we do have a whopping great big Turkish base covering a third of the island. Non alignment my arse! We got hurt by being non aligned. If we were a NATO nation, then the Russians may have at one point threatened us with nuclear annihilation, but our island would be whole today.

Way to go!

And welcome to reality!

If there is ever going to be a nation called Kurdistan, then where should that be? Would Eastern Turkey be a logical choice?

That is where the majority of Kurds are, along with northern Iraq.

Are we ready to carve Turkey up, with the help of the Jews?

Is it not moral, that they too should have their own State?

You mean like having the moral decency to own up that you’re Paphitis?

Look man, there are too many strange people in Paphos and some of them lack morals, particularly around the north part where there are far too many weirdos, such as funny men wearing skirts and talking in funny James Bond accents!

Now let me look in my little book of morals. Oh here's one. If I am a raging queer, then maybe my wife should know!

Oh, there is another one hear. It states, that I should mind my own business.

And no, I don't know who this Paphiti chap is. If he comes from the Peyia area, or slightly north west from there, then he is probably a weirdo.

Makarios, a dead Grivas, and the "leftists" were responsible for the Greek coup? Because THAT is what triggered the Turkish invasion!

No! Makarios and the Leftist were responsible for pissing the Americans and NATO off, who then encouraged the Greek Generals to conduct a Coup for double union, and hence have Cyprus permanently under their thumb during the Cold War!

It was not only the Greek Coup, that was supported by the Americans. It was years of irresponsible Foreign Policies by individuals that were incapable and were better suited to the priesthood!

What a stupid fuck you are.

What did you fucking expect? Did you expect NATO or the Americans to do the right thing by 600,000 Cypriots when 3,000,000,000 were facing possible nuclear annihilation?

Quick you better take your brain scan to Dr Bill for a quick diagnosis.

There is whole country of Skirt Lifting Spartans not too far away,

some of whom were advocating poovery some 2300 years back - to link with in another thread the Hellenists can be proud of Michael Sarris for following an ancient Greek tradition of shagging young men.

I just wonder if the Scots and Ancient Greeks are related.
