Turkish Cypriot School opens in Limassol

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Postby Kifeas » Tue Sep 20, 2005 4:11 pm

Last week I visited one such village in north Pafos area, near Yiallia village. It was a group of Gypsies who used to live until a few years ago in the Morfou area. They managed to convince me to have a coffee and tell me my future from it.

They build them some nice cottages on the slop of a hill, among carob and almond trees. Guess what? They do not live inside but outside, under the trees. They transferred all the kitchenware, tables, chairs, beds, etc. outside under the trees next to the cottages.

Very exiting and very interesting to observe their life style!

Do not worry Viewpoint for not knowing anything about the Gypsies of Cyprus. I would have never expected from a non-Cypriot to know such things about Cyprus and it's historical, social and cultural make up. For you is only enough to only know were Antalya, Ismir, mersina, and Ankara are!

The gypsies I am talking above are Cypriot Gypsies for thousands of years and we are not "allowed" to exclude them from anything. They are part of what constitutes Cyprus and Cypriots, like the Cyprus mouflon is part of the Cypriot nature.

Okay Viewpoint, you are right, I tried to pull your leg on this and see your reaction. Take it as winding up joke, which in fact it was. :)

There are about 2,000 TCs in the south out of the 60,000 that lived in the south before 1974. That means that we managed to retain 3.33% of TCs in the south.

There are about 250 GCs in the north out of the 185,000 that lived there before 1974. That means the TCs managed to ostracize from their north territories 99.86% of the GCs and retained only 0.14% of those that used to live in the north before 1974.

You see Viewpoint! You even beat us in this area too.
