Ex Minister Michalakis Sarris arrested at TRNC

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

More in the CY Mail on this.

The defendants have been beaten up to extract "confessions" and a UN observer was barred from the hearing.

Our good friends Mssrs Constantis Candounas and Achileas Demitriades were at the hearing... so looks as though this will go to the ECHR if the Illegal Regime persist with this.

This is turning in to another kangaroo court.

Any thoughts as to whether this whole affair has elements of entrapment in it, organised by the Illegal Regime to discredit the Republic .... ?????

You give the occupation regime too much credit! Saris has screwed up before.

And not to mention that half of European mps are gays or pedophiles anyway so he is seen as normal by them!

Just naturally suspicious of anything that comes out of the Occupied Areas...

... speaking of being suspicious, wonder what marinetraffic.com has to say about the current position of the Sardine Trawler Piri Reis...

...OMG! ... it's disappeared! .... Waters to the south of CY must be some kind of Bermuda Triangle.

Could it be that it sank??

I doubt there will be any due process from an illegal regime, but the RoC needs to be careful and not get involved.

There should be no contact with the unrecognised "legal system". Basically, just let Sarris fend for himself.

He got himself in this situation.

I am sure he would be an asset to you aboard the Black Pearl, perhaps you can offer him a job? Mind you Sarris the Cabin boy doesn't have quite the same ring as Roger the Cabin boy!

From the Kaleidescope Trust a reminder that "trnc" is the only place in Europe with these homophobic "laws"...

...The arrest of three men in Northern Cyprus under laws prohibiting ‘sexual intercourse against the order of nature’ has been condemned by the Kaleidoscope Trust, which supports gay men and lesbians around the world in the face of prejudice and discrimination.

Northern Cyprus is the only area within Europe that retains laws against homosexuality, in breach of its commitments under the European Convention on Human Rights...."

UN Sec General Ban Ki-Moon, some remarks at event on ending violence and criminal sanctions based on sexual orientation and gender identity in 2010...

"‘Personal disapproval, even society’s disapproval, is no excuse to arrest, detain, imprison, harass or torture anyone, ever.’
