I don't want to talk about you alone, because it seems that many Cypriots need to do the same. And with this mentality, you do deserve the political representatives you get, because in other countries, there are openly gay politicians, because homosexuality is not so much a taboo subject like it is in Cyprus.

The occupation regime is illegal at its very root, so it’s pointless to complain about gay & lesbian rights there!

No I don't believe it is pointless at all.

You are correct in that the "trnc" is illegal at its very root, but any HR abuse which gains international attention, thus raising awareness about the illegal regime, the occupation, invasion and ethnic cleansing is a good thing.

Capt J Sparrow wrote:You guys need to get your priorities right because the problem is not bad “TRNC” laws (being an illegal entity they are expected) but our corrupt and incompetent politicians who expose and humiliate us!

Our priorities are to firstly bring down the regime and occupation of Cyprus.

And we intend on using every weapon within our arsenal.

But that’s the whole point sparrow brains… you won’t be able to achieve that goal with corrupt and incompetent politicians that you keep letting off the hook!

First you discipline and direct your politicians and THEN you solve the problem.

At the very most, the only thing Sarris needs to answer is why he has lowered himself and bought his office into ill repute.

Prostitution (if true) is not something I would expect from any political representative anywhere.

He could be an incompetent politician as you say, but he deserves a fair go and a chance to explain his actions which have shamed him, his family and the office he represents. But there is still no illegality to his homosexual actions.

As to him being corrupt, well that might be true as well. Do you have anything reliable to point out to us that prove beyond any doubt that he is a corrupt individual?

And it's Captain Jack Sparrow to you. Savvy???

...the question is two fold therefore:

1. how does the RoC represent itself defending the Individual Rights of its Citizens, (is there a charge of paedophilia and/or homosexuality, to be laid?),
...is so, how will the International interest that is focused on this issue appreciate the value of the Cypriot sense of Universal Principals.

2. what are the consequences of Mr. Sarris's acts; does it serve a purpose if he presents himself to "their" court on charges of homosexuality? (too, the RoC's court what should it do/ is there a case here, or not?)

...i will remind you; motive plays an important role in acts:

1. the "Turkish" authorities may be homophobes, does this arrest play into "our" own homo-phobias; why?

2. Sarris was exposed indeed. there are many occasions it seems, the possibility of a set-up is obvious, his credibility is damaged by his "weakness"; why?
...see point one;(his motives, "a massage", are stipulated.)

...i bet trncland is sorry they hustled this tourist.
