hi guys ! let me introduce myself first . im jerome 16 years old of age born in philippines . my mom and dad are both filipino . they got separated when im still yung and now my mom married a cypriot last february . and soon ill be living in cyprus with them . but one thing made me uncomfortable , when i heard that all cypriot men are obliged to do military training . so i need to know if i will need to underdo this military training as i live there ? need your response !!! :DD tnx in advence !!

if you are Filipino you should be OK - just be careful if your mother takes citizenship.

Yes agree, Jerome won't be liable for service (unless he himself takes up CY citizenship?)

... after all J's father is Filipino so there is no CY ancestry through the male line.

... but are we all agreed that Jerome should volunteer for the service when his time comes?

Απολαβές και άλλα Ωφελήματα
Στις εθελόντριες παρέχεται η μισθολογική κλίμακα Α1 και το εκάστοτε τιμαριθμικό επίδομα καθώς και ο 13ος μισθός. Δικαιούνται άδεια απουσίας 18 εργάσιμων ημερών το χρόνο και δωρεάν ιατροφαρμακευτική περίθαλψη.
Σε περίπτωση απολύσεως μετά τριετία οι παραπάνω δικαιούνται εφ’ άπαξ αποζημίωση ίση με ένα μισθό για κάθε έτος υπηρεσίας.

Yes, but they volunteer to become employees, they are not conscripted.

Except in the case of joining armed forces when conscription applies, and someone isn't called up.
